Toulon Austin Refinish

Figured I would put a thread up with a putter I just had refinished. It came back with a nice matte copper finish, but still thought there was a little too much shine. I accelerated the patina process and added some paintfill. I think this is my all time favorite finish. Sorry for the crappy indoor pics, will update with some better outdoor shots soon.

Thanks, the original copper finish looked like this

 

I let the putter sit in an air tight container with 3 broken up hard boiled eggs. The sulfur content of the eggs helps accelerate the patina.

You did that with JUST hard boiled eggs?!? Epic job! Absolutely love what you've done there. I have to try this myself now. I've had a little bit of fun playing with running hot water over the putter in the past, gotten some cool coloring too which set up nice for a future patina.

That's the best looking Toulon I've ever seen. I'm not sure why they don't, but they should offer some different finishes and this should be one of them...

they offer 2 other finishes through the Garage, but this is not one of them. Black and a rose gold

Started with the stainless head, Cullen Davis at Custom Putter Works did the job. I have no affiliation with him other than being a very satisfied customer. His craftsmanship, turnaround, and pricing are fantastic, as is his communication. Thinking about doing another one in a different finish.
