Saw that Wilson is coming out with the new Soft version next month now with matte finish options.

Nice to see someone else come out with the matte finish. I like the Volvik Vivid but the feel is a bit too firm. The Duo's are too soft for me...Dang. Still excited that Wilson is making a play in the ball market.

Been wondering when another company was going to come out with matte colored balls.

 

The Optix Green looks great. I have always loved the DUO in the cold weather, excited for the new color options.

 

And, thankfully their terrible yellow is no more.

If so, they're still selling 6 year old balls at my local Golf Galaxy. My husband spent half the summer cracking Duo's till I finally convinced him to switch to the e6. He's 70, it's not like he was hitting them too hard.

White comes in normal and matte. The matte white is the Ladies version with light blue Wilson logo

I agree. There's a market for the finish options. Plus, its cheap at $20. Far better than the Volvik Vivid. Neither ball spins, but the Vivid is a rock.

Dang it %^*#% I was just looking at these yesterday and didn't notice that about the red! I'd gotten all excited.

 

For whatever reason I really, really like the red matte finish. I wanted to like the Vivid but it just doesn't have anything going for it (for my game) besides the color. I love a soft feeling ball and was hoping to make this my winter ball.

 

 

Edit: OK looking again on the sale page the red are the only one's that say coming soon. Maybe that just means they aren't ready for even pre-sale yet?

Supersoft guy here... will definitely be giving these a go since the matte looks so nice.

 

Just wish the white matte was available in the "men's" version. I read the ladies version was slightly higher spinning, which is not what I'm looking for.

How is this ball any different from the original Duo? Same compression, so is it just the new colors? I'm a big fan of the Duo Urethane, but I'm always looking for the softest ball possible as well.

Ordered 2 doz optix yellow. I love the look of the Vivids, but they are a bit on the hard side and hard to find locally.

I read slightly larger core but really no major differences. Wilson's ball engineer was quoted as saying something to the effect of "trying to make them fly straighter since we can't make them go farther".

 

I think it was in MGS? They have a piece on the new balls.

I can't wait to put the pink version into play. I have played the Duo yellow as my regular ball since it came out but it is hard to see in fall conditions with leaves turning, etc. The pink 50 I played omce was the most visible ball I ever tried but I like the Duo more.

Pretty much the same ball. Slightly larger core. Same 29 compression. I think they just messed with the dimples to increase the "straightness" of the ball.
