Launcher HB hybrid irons

Any word on the new Launcher HB irons from Cleveland? Are they similar to the HB3 line or the new Altitude version, which was horrible. Who sells them? Cheers, Tanner

The Altitude was the replacement for the HB3. The Launcher HB the replacement for the Altitudes.

Why do you say the Altitudes were horrible ?

After 3 different sets of Ping irons and struggling mightily I switched to the Altitudes and currently playing in the upper single digits for a handicap. I’ve hit the new HB’s and for me very similar to the Altitudes. Same amount of low offset. The biggest difference is the new HB’s are shorter shaft length wise than the Altitudes by about -1/2”. Which is great for me as my Altitudes are -1/2”.

They dropped the 3i in the HB set And I think it’s the 7 and 8i that are 1* stronger than the Tudes and the SW went from 54* to now 56*.

The new cavity fill on the HB’s is more of a satin finish versus the matte finish of the Altitudes. Which holds up better will take some time.

Good stuff erock9174, thx. I just didn't like the look of the Tudes compared to the HB3. Never did a true comparison, just a few swings on the range and glancing at them in the stores. Interesting you said, you went away from the Pings.I was thinking before my golf days are over, maybe I should try Ping. But, it's really hard to beat the HB3's. I only wished I scooped up the Sr version when Dicks was clearing them out. Tanner

If I could find a set that outperformed my Tudes id be gaming Pings. But the Tudes have taken Down G25’s, Rapture V2’s and K15’s for me.

Wow, quite an endorsement! Interesting how these clubs flew under the radar. I guess the thick top line and hybrid iron scared many players away.

On WRX they got no love. On another popular forum I think the Tudes thread had like 3,000 posts. That’s where I learned of them. They still get some commentary years later.

Nope. The Tudes were my first foray into Cleveland irons.

A buddy of mine has owned the XLI, HB3 and Tudes. I’ll try and get him to chime in.
