4 drivers, 6 hybrids-don't judge, I'm making up for lost time, 2 wedges, and my very first Superstroke putter.

 

I admit I may have a problem. All were bought second hand if that helps. I hated hybrids prior to this year so in my defense I'd only bought 2 prior to this week in my life. First one had one range trip five years ago and has sat in the "bad club" corner since. Heck it might have even been donated. I'm too lazy to go dig and look. The second one was bought earlier this year on a whim and found its way into my bag until the unfortunate incident last week which saw the head fly almost as far as the ball. I've also never used a superstroke putter. This is a Callaway Versa #2 White. Mhhh. I'm intrigued. I've got a round scheduled for Thursday so of course I sprang for the quick shipping, but it was almost a steal with the coupon codes I found online.

 

I'll feel good that I bought zero iron sets, so if the misses is monitoring my posts I at least have that going for me. Iron sets would cost at least the majority of what I spent so far so it's almost like I'm saving money. I sleep well knowing whatever is purchased that doesn't find its way into the bag will end up in the hands of a local junior golfer. It's almost like I've been working hard to improve my community? I'll also point out that I've bought no golf balls this week yet. I did not spring for any new golf bags either. I may have to later to hold some of the overflow if they don't end up immediately donated, but you just can't leave these things lying all over the garage. It would be a disgrace. Probably a trip hazard too and I'd hate to have my insurance rates go up.

 

I'll stand by all of these clubs. I work hard and if I want to binge a little I feel I should be allowed. Plus with the advent of paperless statements I'm hoping that they'll just add to the general golf club background noise that is my garage. I'll also tuck tail and run if they're found by the Mrs. She doesn't get how hard it is to find the perfect club combo. But if you are reading this, dear love of mine, you are far wiser and I deeply regret the golf club degenrate I've become! I did buy you that new kitchen table that you wanted. I didn't even complain, please let the official record state. Just handed over the card and let you go to town. I even pretended to be interested and offered my opinion on which one you should get-I certainly can't help it if I thought the cheapest one was the best one. Heck the difference in price was at least a driver and a wedge.

I figure I am allowed at least one crazy vice. It's currently golf, golf equipment, and golf tinkering. It used to be old Land Cruisers, and before that fishing, and before that duck hunting. I don't drink or smoke, and only keep one insane hobby at a time. The wife understands. Just can't do it all. Have to stagger the craziness. 2 drivers, 3w, DI, Hyb, and iron set here for me recently. And of course I already had a perfectly good set. Not to mention the countless shafts and grips now that I have started modifying.

 

It's not a problem if you don't ever admit to it. In all honesty. It's actually the cheapest overall hobby that I have had yet. And that includes the cost to play, get my son into it, and even going to golf events. Old cars and hunting/fishing is much more costly in my experience. Just tell her it could be worse.

This is so true. I have a $2.5K cam belt change coming up. Golf is cheap, innocent fun.
