Had a Rogue 125 was nice in 915, but after trying rogue in 917 the speeder TS 74 stiff actually gave me better numbers. 9.5* set on B1 shaft plays to 44”, this setting allows for a less closed face on my particular head, as I’m sure “OTR” all vary slightly, but shortening and position increased smash, and gave me much more confidence over ball.

I have a 9.5, set at A1, originally out of the used bin with a KK TiNi dc 60s. Nice high ball flight with that shaft.. I have recently been playing a Proforce V2 66s at 44.5 I have had kicking around and I like that shaft for dispersion better. Little lower ball flight but still gets it out there deep. I was playing the g400 before this and that driver wins in sound and feel but the D3 keeps up with it and looks so much better to my eye. I am still surprised at how forgiving it is for a smaller head.

Is it worth the upgrade from 915d3, or should I wait to see what the 919 brings this fall? I like my 915, but hate the sound and don't want to go through trouble of hot melting.

I have a 917 D3 9.5 set to A1 with Diamana LTD 70X standard length. It performs as well as any of the new clubs. I recently went back to it because it was just way more consistent for me and by no means short compared to M1 I was playing. I find myself in pretty much the same spots around the various courses I played. I participated in a tournament at PGA West past week and it definitely performed around these very tough golf courses.

I played the 915 D3 for a while over a year ago and really liked it, but the 917 does sound better and I find it to be more forgiving. I don't know what they did exactly to help in this area but I don't find it any less forgiving than my 913 D2 so far. Performance-wise, you probably won't notice huge distance gains from the 917 or 919, but the forgiveness is there if you prefer the smaller head. I would say the feel is better in the 917 as well, maybe just attributed to the sound, but it is better. The 915s felt hard off the face to me, D3 less so than the D2.

9.5 D3 with Tour AD TP-7X @ 44.25". I've tried everything on the market and keep coming back to Titleist. Have a few different shafts I've toyed with but can't stay away from 917.

I’ve got the D3 in 9.5 set to D4 with a Diamana D+ LTD 70TX tipped 1” and 16g weight in neutral. For me it’s a cannon and I love the feel.

Hosel setting is C3. .75 upright, 11.25 degrees. My AOA is only 1 degree up so I need a little extra loft.

 

Hotmelting dramatically changes the pitch and loudness of it. It was pretty darn loud before.

 

I actually bought it after I demo’d the subzero last spring. I tried the Sub with three different shafts over 2 hours and I just never fell in love with it. 5 swings with the 917 and I knew I wanted it. Started with the Fuji 74x tour spec, which is a very nice shaft, but the KKDC improved it even more with lower spin.

how do you like your Hogan irons?

 

18 months in the bag now. Probably the Most under appreciated clubs on the market. Love them.

 

Apex cf16, 714 ap2, PXG 0311t All couldn’t kick them out if the bag during that time.

 

The PXG’s were close. They’re still sitting in the corner of my office, but I liked the V sole and the slightly lower ball flight with the Hogans.

I have the 10.5 set to B3 (12 degrees) and the draw bias weight setup, with the Diamana Blue Ltd 70-S at 44.5". It plays very consistently for me.

I've always played the D3 heads and considered the 917. Was surprised to see how many of Titleist staffers that have played the D3 in past have changed to D2 this year. Surprised how few D3 are listed in their bags. Wondered if something wasn't as good in new series head. I have hit on indoor monitors and seems to be 10 yards shorter. Haven't hit outdoors.

i just picked up 917 D3 9.5, going to tip and grip my Synergy proto 75TX and weather permiting take it on a test drive this weekend i will be playing it at 44.5" hope the combo works well
