A lot of discussion about that in another thread. It looks pretty similar, but the grind and leading edge shape may be slightly different. It's hard to tell exactly what's coming to retail because some of the TaylorMade staff have custom grinds.

What is the Mullen 2 putter?

 

Different shape than the Mullen TP released last year. It's shaped more like the Cameron Newport M1 and the Odyssey 3T.

That's quite a mix for Rory. I don't remember seeing such a blended set from him.

Iron setup is basically the same as what he put in play after signing with TaylorMade. But yeah, it's a little different than when he was 3-9 in blades. Pretty sure he's always used a PW that wasn't a part of the iron set, though. The driving iron instead of the 5w is interesting. Seems to be the trend right now with a lot of the longer hitters.

1) Seems like this year more M2 guys are switching to M3 instead of going into M4

2) He's only using blades starting at the 5i.

3) Forgoing a 5w, although that's not a massive surprise

He's played a 5w for a long time. I wouldn't be surprised to see him switch back and forth between the 2i and the 5w depending on course conditions

Yeah I know he'll go back and forth but I feel like I remember him playing most of the courses in the states with a 5w (maybe except the US Open) because the winds aren't as bad, etc... But maybe his numbers for this week are more optimal with a 2i and not a 5w.

 

Is that a HZRDUS black in the 2i? Doesn't DJ game a set up similar?

DJ has the p790 3 iron with a x100 and then p730 4-pw

Rory's iron setup has been the same since he signed with TaylorMade before the 2017 Players. Rors Protos 5-9, P750 3-4 and a 2 iron with HZRDUS shaft. Has never used a PW from the iron set. 5 wood will go in and out depending on course conditions. He also switched to a round Tour Velvet around the start of the playoffs moving away from his ribbed Multi-Compounds.

 

It is interesting following the driver changes for the TM guys. DJ went from M1 to M4 and Rory has gone from M2 to M3.

Oooh, good spot. I was focusing so much on which model grip he was using, that I never even noticed the way he was gripping the putter! :D

Still seems like we're in the "experimental" season right now. Odds are he just wants to test a bunch of stuff in tournament play.
