Evan was nice enough to expand on these irons for me. Please note that this is his thoughts on the irons and because of this info I’m going to try and contact Edel to see what they say. Sounds as if they’re more special than I thought

 

Those look like a set of either proto or display show irons David Edel and team would have made out of carbon steel. They use 304 stainless for almost all of their forgings now, so the raw/rusting look is pretty rare to these. The blanks for the irons and wedges are all Kiyoei forgings from the period that that logo would have been in use. Big thing with the Edel line-ups are the grinds and bounce options that are ground in once the heads get to Texas - those look like trapper grinds in the standard bounce spec, so 9-15 degrees of bounce from the four iron down to the gap wedge.

Really cool Joey. Nothing better than raw irons boys. If I had my choice I would have every iron raw carbon. Better feel, looks all helps with more control. Plus who doesn't love when people see your bag and laugh. Then you steal their lunch $!

I bought these because I wanted something that no one else had. Who knows, if these don't sell by the time the big thaw comes I may decide it was a blessing. I must say, though, I am proud of myself for this being the only set of clubs I bought this winter.... well, until last night when I won an auction on a mint set of 765's.

These aren’t black. There’s no black in them. All the heads are brown and they have spots of patina. They’re not one big head of rust

5-PW have c- taper 120 shafts stiff, 4 iron has DG AMT S300 shaft. I have the DG AMT S300 shafts for the other irons that I would also include. Would also throw in an Edel Torque B mallet putter.

I know they’re nice. I’ll literally just turn and sell them. With what they’ve been selling for recently I just can’t get there even with the putter .
