Nickent 3DX Pro Irons

Anyone got some experience with these irons?

I took a set Nickent 3dx Pro out to demo at the range today and was quite impressed with 150 balls off the grass. The stock Nippon 118G shafts are incredible. I like the shape of the heads too. The feel was soft, the trajectory perfect, no ballooning, and they were as long as anything I have hit. Accurate to boot.

Wondering if any other members have hit them, or have them in the bag.

They might be just as good as the x forged that I have owned at hundreds less.

Those clubs are sweet. I had a set. Very solid feeling head. Nice to look at as well. I would recommend them. They were done by the guy that used to do all of the really sweet clubs that TaylorMade had. They can be picked up relatively cheap too.

Over a year playing 3dx pros. I went with the Nippon 950 shaft for my set.

 

I agree on everything OP said. Great look, very forgiving and probably the best feeling cast club in the market. Nippons shatfs are awesome and the Golf Pride V-55 are nice too.

 

New 4dx Pro forged iron set coming in october, so its a very good time to get a set for cheap.

The Nickentgolf website states John Hoeflich as the cheif designer, the website states he has been behind designing some of the best and most popular irons on the market over the past years. Do you know what iron models he was the creator of?

They pay tribute to him with his initials on the hosel of the 3dx Pro irons.

Love to know what he was responsible for irons design at TMAde or any other OEM.

It's an under rated brand of club.

Very easy to hit and you can count on it on the days your swing was left behing in the garage at home.

JBH did the Tommy Armour 845's, Titleist DCI, and TaylorMade RAC irons and wedges.

 

I play the GI Nikents, the 3DX Hybrid irons, and they're amazing. The Nippon shafts are a revelation, I never knew how important iron shafts were until I got this set.

Mr. Hoeflich did the 845's and DCI,s and the the rac's for Taylor Made??!!??

 

I am going to get a set, this fine gentleman has brought to market winners, not to mention huge sellers.

 

I fully agree BIG D McGEE with your statement above pertaining to shafts, I had a set of irons with Nippons in them that I really liked, and left them like a true Club Ho. They were, and again are, the best for me. Probably the best for those of us with smooth tempo medium speed swings. The heavy hitters Project X, the faithful DG - S300 from True Temper.

.............but for the weird Skandik Titaninum ;)

remeber those old school shafts? How about the Novus Graphite Fire Engine RED graphites Ping once used in irons?

Wow and not going to even try the new Mizuno 57's, that says how much I really liked these 3dx Pro sticks with the proprietary 118 G shafts made for these irons. What a combo of shaft and head.

 

Nothing follows a purred iron shot to the pin, like a center cut 8 footer dropped in for a bird.

Been gaming a bag of mostly Nickent for a few years now. Currently gaming Nickent 3dx Pro irons, 4dx fairway woods (3 and 5) and 5dx hybrids (4 and 5).

I have a 4DX Driver that I leave in a holiday set of clubs. Driver heads have changed a lot on terms of design since its release in 2008 but it still holds it's own and if I hit one out of the screws it is still as long as my 2019 Cobra F9.

3dx Pro's were fun irons.  U grooves and Nippon 1150 shafts were good for some crazy spin.
