Omni Scottsdale

Every year from 1985-2015 I visited the area to golf for a week. In the beginning we stayed at the Princess and Royal Palms, but for the 2nd half of our years we rented condos or houses. I am planning to return with my wife who is a semi golfer so I need a hotel/resort so she has something to do while I golf. She did some online research and is saying she likes the Omni most. Feels Princess too big. JW Desert Ridge is an option but we really like a club floor. Royal Palms she thinks is beautiful but too small. I get it! Really tough decisions!

What’s the concencus on the Omni in Scottsdale? Location, room quality, cleanliness, ammenities, restaurants, etc? I’ve never been there.

Omni is in a great spot. Good pools, restaurants and bars at the resort, which is one of the best in town. Close to Arcadia and Old Town and plenty of golf course options. Camelback Golf and Mountain Shadows are both very close. Papago and Talking Stick are also options. FWIW, Trump stayed there last time he was in town.

For what you are looking for, it should be perfect.

We love the Princess and don't feel it is too big at all. When it is just the wife and I we usually stay at the Sanctuary at Camelback but with the kids its been the Princess. You can stay in the Fairmont Gold section and have access to the lounge for light breakfast, drinks, snacks, tapas, etc. We are heading there this week actually. Just hope the weather warms up a bit so the kids can swim and take advantage of the water slides. Orig. when we booked 2 weeks ago it was showing in the 80's every day. That changed in a hurry!

You can stay in the Fairmont Gold section and have access to the lounge for light breakfast, drinks, snacks, tapas, etc. We are heading there this week actually. That's what we're doing. We decided on the Fairmont and staying in the gold area. The reality is all of the choices were great, but I am happy with our decision. Also good location for the courses and restaurants I enjoy. This will be my 19th trip in the last 20-21 and after missing last year so I am really really psyched. This will be my new wife's first trip so she's anxious to see what the hype is all about. Now I wait in NJ with the awful weather and hope to get in some meaningful swings before the trip so I can keep it in play.
