Help with 3w/shaft combo.

Looking for some input on a 3w head/shaft combo. I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on a used 2017 M2 15* with a Matrix Ozik mfs 70m4 black tie (that's a mouthful). My driver is a JDM SLDR 430 TP with the (i think) previous generation Black Tie with R1 graphics, and i mash it pretty daggum good. It plays to a little shy of 45", and i launch it medium.

I'm a pretty good stick, either side of scratch, about 6'2", SS pretty comfy in the 113-117 range, with a pretty smooth tempo and transition.

The other shaft available is a PX hzrdus black x-stiff. What say y'all?

Do either of them have "humble brag" painted down the bottom of the shaft axis? I'd get that one.

 

Aside from that, its pretty tough to go wrong with the black, the hzrdus line is rock solid and the black is the middle of the road middle of the road. I've never hit the Matrix but a 70 gram 3 wood shaft for a guy averaging 115 off the tee seems light.

In no way was i trying to brag, as you mentioned. I merely listed my stats so people had something to go on for giving advice that would help me make a decision, as I'm on the fence.

I'm a 2. I play the 17 m2 3wood. Smooth tempo and transition too. I tried the black tie 7m3 and a hzrdus black in the 3wood trying to get launch and spin down a bit. Neither shaft worked well for me. I do vwry well with mid launch/mid spin shafts. But most mid/mids won't lower launch and spin.

 

Currently gaming a speeder 757 evo 2 x flex tipped and I was able to get launch and spin down where I wanted. That shaft felt much better to me than the low launch shafts.

 

So, if you're like me and do well with mid/mid shafts then you may have to look around a bit. Check titleist's shaft guide. That helped me.

 

If you do well with low launch shafts then you havea lot of options...th3 black tie and hzrdus black being two of them. Diamana d+, co pro white, etc. Again, titleist shaft guide is your friend.

 

My perfect setup would be a diamana s+ x or tx tipped to lower launch and spin. Possible that the ck pro white or blue would do. But the blue would probably have to be tipped a good bit unless you got into a tx flex.
