After a long and fun conversation with Austin, I decided to pull the trigger (paying for it Wednesday) on a custom Piretti.

 

Here are the specs/info:

 

- 801 R type head

- Plumbers Neck

- Carbon

- Black Oxide

- Deep Mill

- No Sightlines

- 365g

- 73* lie

- 35.5" length

- 3* loft

- Black Shaft

- Black Midsize Leather Stitchback Grip

 

Some very unique stamping - including playful use of the "P"s that Piretti offers. Goin with a clean look that will be my gamer for some time.

 

Cannot WAIT to get this in my hands; apologize if anyone doesn't care for it - was just too excited about it not to share.

What's the difference between an 801 and 801 R?

If I ever get a chance to build up the funds, I'd love to get a cottonwood II with softened bumpers and neck.

What's the difference between an 801 and 801 R?

Piretti is definitely back on my list after seeing their work over the last 6 months or so. I guess they were never really "off" of my list--just never thought of them as a custom option before. Can't wait to see pics, OP!

Sounds great. Their stuff looks great. I rolled a few 35" Pirettis recently and they all felt quite heavy. Not sure I understand why all their heads are 365 grams.

yea i wondered that as well -- i asked Austin the same thing. he said they do make lighter putters, as well as the adjustable weighted ones - they were just out of 801 R heads in lighter weights.

 

doesn't bother me much since i have a few putters of varied weights, all similar head shape - so, mixing/matching to different speed greens is simple.

Good choice ! never dealt with Austin, but Mike and Bill Craig are top notch guys. I made the mistake of stopping by their shop in Houston last December( tons of good stuff)....Enjoy the new putter. !

I just saw a 340g and 350g head on their IG, so it looks like they are making some lighter heads for tour players.

Let’s get it Gio!! Gonna be a super sick stick. It’s a pleasure to be able to help turn your vision into reality. We have some big things in store for 2018 including adjustable weight carbon 801 heads (weights start at 345g and go to 355g and 365g, all weights and tool included), new necks, new stamps, new covers and even a few more surprises I can’t share just yet!

Yessir - typical carbon putter care. Sticker price starts at $1,250. Trust me - they take very good care of u for that price. 'Base' goes a very long way.

 

I'll be posting a longer review once I get it. I am floored by the level of customer service these guys have offered.
