Was just going to post this same question today and found this topic. Very interested to hear what people have to say. I've never owned any Datrek bags so I have no idea if the quality is good compared to other major bag companies

Thanks!

Welp I just bought one. RBG for $129. Figure it was worth a shot. Looks like everything I'm looking for. I'll post a review once I receive it!

I got one this past winter. Really nice bag. Tops through n through. I too wanted a lighter option to carry. Had a pro shop credit, so took a chance. It's sold under the Bagboy brand hear in Canada.

Compared it to SM 2.5+ and Ping 4 series. I would say it's closer to the 2,5 in size. But materials seem slightly better imo, similar lightweight construction though. 4 fully sealed dividers and wide opening with nice big grab handle. A little tight with 14 clubs with big midsize grips but doable. Stand is awesome too. Straps are a little thin but material is nice so we will see. Pocket configuration is also top notch. Great slim profile but above average storage for bag it's size. Cooler sleeve is great size and placement too. Zippers and pulls look great too.

Should mention that I dealt with a great rep from their Canadian distributor. He drove to the course to drop it off to view because I had never seen one. Great service and a great bag for sure.

Cherry on top is that the bag will stand on its own even with clubs in it. I only had 10 in it, but still thats huge for a bag in this weight class.

That's great to hear!

I haven't been able to find a good picture of what the straps are but I'm thinking I may replace them with my Ping straps if they aren't comfortable enough

Got the bag yesterday

I'll post some pictures when I get to the golf course this afternoon but here are my initial thoughts. For comparison my current bag is a 2017 Ping Hoofer

- Very light! There's a significant difference between this and my ping. It honestly hardly feels like you're carrying anything when it's on your back

- Top opening is smaller than I'm used to but it very easily holds 14 clubs. I use standard grips on my irons and midsize on my wedges and there was no issue getting clubs in and out. Top divider is a bit small for my liking. I have D, 3W, Hyb, and a Directed Force putter. They fit but it's tight.

- Straps. Pretty minimal. They are thin and contain some kind of rubber-like compound as padding. The left strap twisted pretty easily. Not uncomfortable but not ideal. I immediately swapped the straps with some Callaway straps I had from an old bag and it's much more comfortable and balances better. I may look to Sun Mountain to get some straps as they're only about $12.

- Stand mechanism seems solid. Deploys very easily when placing the bag on the ground

- The handle at the top of the bag is very sturdy and is nice when placing the bag on the ground.

- The material is definitely light. I've never dealt with a SM 2.5 or 2.5+ so I cannot compare but it's nothing like my Ping Hoofer material. I'm very curious to see how it holds up.

- Pockets are plenty big enough for everything I need to carry. Large apparel pocket can definitely hold whatever you need in terms of extra layers, etc.

So far it seems very promising! 100% accomplishes the goal of finding a lighter bag to carry while still holding all 14 clubs

How has this held up for you so far? Looking for something in this class and these are $100 at RBG right now.
