Updating the WITB for the start of the season, only change I can see in the near future is changing the gap and lob wedges to S18's as well based on how much I've liked the 56 I picked up earlier this year, I really like how it sets up behind the ball.

 

I'd say a good 90% of my rounds are walking, I've been really happy with the Titleist Players 4 bag that I picked up last fall, plenty of storage and still light enough to not be cumbersome. Actual driver head cover is out of commission and being repaired because someone thinks it's a toy...

 

 

 

 

 

 

Driver: Ping G, Tour 65 S set to 8*, NDMCC Plus 4 grip (love it), heading into its 3rd season this is easily the longest I've kept a driver in... ever?

 

 

 

 

 

3 wood: Ping G 14.5, Tour S

 

 

 

Hybrid: Titleist 816 H1 19*, Motore Speeder Tour Spec 8.8 S - went through a series of Adams hybrids that I just never fell in love with, so far I've been thoroughly surprised at how playable this has been, great club.

 

 

 

4-PW: Mizuno JPX-850 forged, DG S300 shafts

 

 

 

Wedges: 50* Mizuno T5, 56* Mizuno S18, 60* Callaway MD2 Tour - changed to 50* with the idea of fitting gaps better with how strongly lofted irons have become, I tend to be a 56-for-all-scenarios short game player so the lob wedge often just sits in the bag, can't think of anything better to replace it with for the time being

 

 

 

Putter: Scotty Cameron Newport Pro Platinum Mil-spec 34" 340g

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Backup putter: Scotty Cameron Newport I bought new in '97, finish was destroyed by a freshly fertilized green many years ago so I stripped it and have played with it that way ever since. I will never get rid of it but wanted to try out the sight-line on the flange with the Mil-Spec, and I'm super picky about the feel of a putter, these old Camerons are IT as far as I'm concerned (totally subjective I know). I keep suggesting to my wife that a refinish would be an awesome birthday or Christmas present, we'll see how that goes...

Great set of clubs and fantastic dog! The quality of the images is very good also...

 

It appears to be a "no nonsense" bag that works for you, the best way imo!

Thanks! I got a chance to put it through its paces on a golf trip down to Hilton Head in February, got 12 rounds in so a decent test: I tend to be pretty picky to how wedges set up behind the ball and for lack of a better way to describe it, this looks "right" to me at address. Prior to the S18 I've had a series of Callaways with the most recent being a Mack Daddy 2 tour grind in slate that I loved (but had worn out). I think the feel on the S18 is just a tad bit softer than the MD2 but the look behind the ball is very similar. Very solid feeling on my stock shots from 75-85-95 yards. I have a T5 50 degree wedge that does things well but has never suited my eye so to speak, I'm looking to replace it now with another S18, I just like the look and feel of these much better overall. I will warn you that I've managed to already wear the black finish down decently on the sole and face in just 12 rounds though.

In the name of endless tinkering, I switched out the 56 / 60 wedges for a 54 / 58 setup to go with the 50* gap wedge. Really liked the S18 56 so stuck with the S18s for these, but went satin finish this time given how quickly the Black was wearing off after just 12 rounds on the 56. I love the shape and feel of these wedges, I demo’d several other offerings and nothing had this kind of feel off the clubface, totally subjective I know.

Bag update: in search of consistency I tried out a few different iron shafts at the local store and really liked the dispersion and feel I was seeing with X100s. Afterwards I decided to look in earnest and was fortunate to find this outstanding set of MP-64s with dynamic gold X100 AMT tour issue shafts and put them in the bag this week. While I’m certainly a Mizuno fanboy I have been really happy with how these have played!
