Graphite Design Tour Ad IZ in a FW? Good?

My driver SS is about 115+ and I asked this question in the cobra F8 topic and never got any response so I thought I’d open it up here. Has anyone tried the graphite design tour AD IZ 8 shaft in a fairway? Thinking about throwing one in a cobra of F8+. I’m not sure if the shaft is geared more towards drivers or fairway metals. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Have the IZ in a 2017 M1 3HL in 80 gram TX flex, absolutely love it. It replaced an 80 gram AD BB x flex shaft.

The IZ probably launches and spins a touch more but is likely awesome as well. Stick to GD advice and do not tip their new shafts more than 1”. Counterproductive.

I just did that mistake. It was tipped 1” and I tipped it 1” more and instead of getting stiffer/lower launch I got the opposite :-(

Currently have an IZ 7s tipped an inch in a Callaway Rogue SZ 15 degree head and its an absolute bomber! 255 to 260 ish carry and am able to flight it low/high or go left or right with it

 

PS: I am a GD fan and use a M9003 60X in my driver for what its worth

I just finished up a range session and it is exactly what I need. Off the tee I was getting s mid/high flight that was carrying forever but could bring the flight down when I wanted. Off the deck I was able to throw it up in the air when I wanted to but the normal flight was mid. This is the first 3 wood I can move both ways and I hope it translates to the course

Awesome to hear. I’ll be putting a 8X in play this Thursday and am hoping for good results. I’ve been struggling with a FW wood for a while now.

I actually found a reputable one on eBay and made an offer an they accepted. Got it for a steal. They’re out there.

I went with the 6x because I like it so much in my driver and was concerned that the 7x might be too stiff & heavy. I've had past success with both 60g and 70g shafts in three woods. I'm playing this afternoon so will report back.

I'm looking at getting the IZ in the driver and 3 wood. Need high launch, low spin. Tried it in the driver and def as advertised, should be good in a 3 wood I would assume....might pull the trigger with IZ in a Rogue 3 wood.

As promised I'm just following up. The Tour AD IZ 6x performed great in the M3 3 wood. The ball gets up quickly and is easy to launch, but the flight flattens rather than continuing to rise from too much spin. That said, I think I'm going to stick with my 2017 M2 Tour with Fuji Pro Tour Spec. The face is a little deeper and I like it better off of a tee.
