Wasn't there some BSG connection with Veylix? There was like a hot minute here a couple years ago that these were the "it" shaft that a few people were peppering this place with gushing reviews everywhere you could post one. They were the hottest thing going here, but they've never seemed to enter the mainstream. It's almost like you have to wonder if a few people weren't paid off in free shafts to come here and talk about how awesome these things were... :secret:

I bought in to the hype and tried a few, and they were cool looking but didn't perform any better than much less expensive shafts. I'm sure they're just fine shafts if they fit you properly. I just don't know that there's anything that really sets them apart from better known, lower priced shafts, besides cool paint (the Wildeye line was stunning in person), some exotic sounding materials, rarity/ uniqueness, and a high price tag. And, I'm fully aware that that's good enough for some people to buy - each their own, I suppose.

i had a Rome 688 for a short time, numbers were between Diamana B+ and KK XT with a more solid overall feel. The weight was lighter than what I like. The Arcane Crystal is supposedly tighter and feel better. To me, with the Rome being one of the early adapter of the 40t/80t materials, it won't feel better than recent models made from Torax T1100.

Is graphene really any better than graphite in a golf shaft and doesn’t Callaway advertise that it’s used in one of their new golf balls? What would it offer in a golf ball? Why didn’t they use graphite before and transition to this graphene as they did in shafts? Makes me think graphite in a golf ball is useless, but a good gimmick to use the new tech sounding graphene name. And yes, I’ll finish this last cocktail and go to sleep soon.

Guy at Golf Galaxy fresh from the Callway chome soft meeting said if you covered a football field with Graphene it would weigh 1 oz. Stronger than any material known. Guy won the Nobel prize blah blah blah. I see no difference in the the new chrome vs. last year. Upside the 2017 models are going "cheap". Callaway does caveat it saying well if you're not a tour pro you won't be able to tell. so that's me .

Interesting. I wonder if it will be based off the Rome profile, just with the new materials? I really liked the Rome 688 in the driver, but it was a little too light. Tried the Agera and the weight felt better, being heavier than the Rome I had, but I couldn’t get enough spin out of it.

Its Robopti.

I tested a shaft with Veylix at the PGA show in 2016. Got fitted into a shaft, left them my contact info, they said they'd reach out to me. No mention of a discount or freebie, literally just a contact list. I wrote down my shaft specs I liked best to see what info they would send eventually... Never heard a word from them. Not the best marketing and sales management.

I ordered my Rogue SZ fwy with the Synergy Blue, and the shaft didn't suit me. Not sure if was the weight or the bend profile, but it wasn't a good fit. Had to end up getting it pulled and putting something else in. I expect, as manufacturers gain more experience with graphene, it will slowly replace graphite and other materials due to the strength and weight properties.

Stupid money for a shaft. No doubt PXG will be offering them.

a shaft company in Japan, Seven Dreamers, sells aerospace grade, bespoke golf shafts at USD 2000 or more. That's stupid.

$1200 USD. I've hit their entire line. It's great, especially the wedge shafts. But I, like the majority, simply cannot afford it. They don't offer discounts for sets either. Bentley has them as an option for their irons...

I’ve tried a couple: Rome 688 and Roughneck 60g.

Both times I thought I liked them until I felt my drives weren’t longer. Retested against previous shaft and both times they were outperformed. Don’t ask me why I tried it again, I think I bought into the draw bias piece of the roughneck but didn’t notice it myself.

if you order the shaft designed specifically for you on hand at one of their fitting locations, i think it's above USD 2000.
