Oh that is a tough wait. I am waiting right now too. Hope next weekend. They pulled tarps already and my greens look like they wintered well.

I did play suncatcher at serenity. Greens were the best so far, rolled fast. I really like that course. It might be my fav play Calgary course. 
this week I hope we get some moisture. It’s dry. Out

I haven't played Suncatcher yet.  Is the range open?  Oh, and do tell, where did they pull tarps that you're waiting to play?

Yeah there is a range. Was open all last year

Are they still hitting off mats?  As I recall, it wasn't full driver length then either

Great greens at serenity. Played in 70km winds today. Balls blowing around on the green lol. It was an adventure. #3 is a par 5 this his where my drive ended up.. a touch downwind! 
 Check that flag almost bent right over lol

I am playing out of Olds this year Cruisin. They hope to have 9 running next week. I doubt it though. I do value a place where they don't compromise course conditions. 

I stood outside for a hot second today in the afternoon. The wind is too much for me. Although a drive like that one would feel great!

My buddy James works in the proshop. He is a fellow gear junkie lol. Real good player! I play out there often with him and another good buddy. We will get out this year abs play! Course is always awesome!

If you have not tried the top tracer ranges at golf future I highly recommend them. Very accurate. And the simulator golf is the best one I have ever used. It was actually a Lot of fun.

This weather stinks, might be 2-3 more weeks before I think I may be able to get a round in. This may lead to more unnecessary golf purchases.

I am hoping by mid next week we are rolling again. We needed the moisture, could have done without the cold though…

Nice I think only a couple courses here opened for our 1 day of good weather a week ago, I imagine this just paused progress for most courses. Hopefully a week of good weather starts things up quick before a golf bag I’m eyeing up gets in stock.

Has PlayGolf started updating their courses with Garmin yet? They haven't had Serenity/Dancing Bull on there since it opened, and last year when I played HG (when it was still 27) a couple of the holes weren't correct on the watch. My assumption has always been that not getting set up with Garmin forces people to download their app, which pisses me off on principle...

You can do it yourself through the Garmin website.

I am looking for information on Calgary club fitters and wondering if anyone has some beta? I have serached around and only found some old info from 2011.  Based on that, it looks like Ted & Daves is still around, but Ted retired in 2016... is Dave still a good option? Also looks like Modern Golf is now in Calgary - any good? Anyone else I should consider? Looking to get a full set fitted in the next couple weeks...

I'm going to try to put in some serious course time this year, walking as much as possible once I get fully recovered from this bout of Covid. My darling partner bought me an 18 at Inglewood (which doubles as a bird watching outing really, gorgeous track if a bit soggy at times), but its a midweek only tee time and most of my usual suspects (already not plentiful, oddly my circle either never played golf or gave up on it full stop) can't take midweeks off. So, if there would be folks here willing to game with a very rusty player it would be nice to meet some of you whose posts I have enjoyed over the years. Otherwise we'll see who I randomly get paired up with this spring.

I would be down for some mid week golf. I work shift work so mid week works for me

I played Millwoods yesterday, opening day. It was windy and a bit cool, but overall it was fun. Course was in pretty good shape. You could tell they just pulled the tarps, and hadn't even cut or rolled greens or anything. But it was good to get out! I typically play Millwoods early in the year as it is one of the first courses to open in Edmonton, and I am always surprised... it is a decent course overall. Worth a play for sure. The next couple of days don't look very good for weather in Edmonton, but I bet by the weekend everything will be back up and running.

Yeah weather *looks out window at driving snow*. You can blame me for putting voice to the thought of going out to play...might mean a trip to the dome is in order, have to swing some sticks!

 

When would be safe to be looking to book at Inglewood and it be in decent shape? I'm not sure how well its drained is all, and I've not done much early season playing in the past.

I’ve played Inglewood plenty and never found it to be wet.
