Yup. Spirit is crushed... still holding onto hope for my Friday time at the Quarry! Only exciting thing going on at the moment is betting on the race between covid waves and new winters (6 to 4 by my last count).

Paul .... I'd take 65° anytime, they same it may get up to 50° here on weekend, we got at least 10" wet snow, pic's out the back door to my home course across fence. 

 

The farmers should be happy with the moisture but it will delay seeding & not good for calfing season either. The birdies nesting sure are confused this morning, too.

 

Don't think our golf courses will reopen anytime soon ...... that sucks.

The game was $100.00 USD for the hole, my buddy & I both hit the green and neither of us made Birdie carry over to 18, ended all square.

 

Kyle came out 3 years ago, you should come visit one year.

I highly, highly recommend Modern Golf. The guys there are awesome and don't push you towards certain brands. T&D push Ping a lot. I just got fit for new irons at MG in Feb and it was an amazing experience! They can also do putter fittings

Double K = Kyle is nicer & still says his Ball: 7 yards ahead of Cruisin's we talking about the same guy ?   Nevertheless, if you ever plan to take a golf holiday in the winter months in Palm Springs let me know.

Thanks for this - a couple different sources have suggested MG, so that is likely where I will go!  Any other input welcome 🙂

April 25th ... my home course opened today, booked the first T-T, walked 18 & finished in just over 3 hours, came home with the same ball, 1 Birdie helped to break 80. It was good to get out for a walk and enjoy the fresh air and catch up with my buddies.

 

While in Palm Springs I collapsed the face on my Ping G400 3 wood.  The other day I swapped out the adapter on my Tour AD DI-8 & installed it in my new Ping G425 Max, 3 wood ... it's a rocket launcher.    

 

Will post a few pic's and some tips for those who do club work, it was a simple easy fix.

 

Golf season is here ....

Nice I picked up a 425 max off eBay this winter and put an IZ-8 in it.

As previously mentioned I took a few pic's on my DIY Ping OEM G425 adapter swap. You can pull an adapter with low heat and it doesn't destroy the adapter or the ferrule. It's recommend to clean out the remaining epoxy when the adapter is hot & I use a ram rod to push out the old epoxy that's down the shaft, Ping puts a small plug in the shaft which isn't necessary to replace. I prefer 3M Scotch-Weld DP420 to bond shaft to adapters or heads, great product never had an issue.

 

Tip:  If you have big mitts & play Mid-Size grips which are tapered I start with a 4" strip of build-up tape on the front portion under the grip then add a 6" strip over it then the double sided grip tape. I use to put a 8" strip of build up tape but didn't like it, just too much.  Adding a couple of strips of build up tape increases the diameter, I find it's feels better and helps me maintain lighter grip pressure.

 

A Std grip Golf Pride Tour Velvet Align grip weighs 52-53 gr while a Mid-Size is heavier at 63-64 gr or more, adding build-up tape then 1 or 2 wraps of 2 sided grip tape increases your club's swing weight about 2 or more points.  I added a couple of strips of lead tape that I cut & molded to the bottom of the head & got my swing weight back up to my desired = D2.

 

My G425 Max 3 wood is a bomber, it goes straight, nice trajectory & even gained some distance.

Played in 4 rounds in Bc sunday and monday. Bootleg gap Sunday shot 77/74 and wildstone yesterday 83/80. Weather was unreal! Courses in awesome shape! I didn’t play my best but it was good to play in no wind! Was supposed to be there today for 2 rounds but my buddy stepped in a hole and messed up his ankle so we decided to come home last night.

 

played the track today and man those greens are good right now! Shot 2 under and could have been a few more very easily!!

That sounds like a great trip, hope your buddy is ok! 

I played Elbow yesterday. Greens were a lil bumpy but will be in good shape. Pretty inconsistent day except to inside 10ft. putts. 

I think this could be a good year if the wind isn't as bad as the past few. I've played a few courses and it seems they all wintered well and the delay has been good.

Looks like I won the Long(ish) Covid lottery. I don't get to really complain about it for another month or so but walking a course is still well off for me. Even riding 9 holes would do me in right now. Hopefully soon though, really have that itch to play.

How are Bootleg's greens?  Have they matured well after the re-sod of a couple of years ago?

 

Was Shadow open?  It is my favourite track in the area, and I know you like it as well....

 

I normally spend a bit of time in the east Kootenay's, and find it cool that the Cranbrook/Kimberley courses get some airtime in the Alberta thread on this forum....

greens were good. Little bumpy but not to bad. I had no issues!

shawdow I am not sure if It was open or not. That course is a beast lol. Really beats me up for some reason !

Bearspaw has a great short game area with a bunker and is open to public.
