I played kaninaskis for the first time Saturday. Played Lorette. Very nice! Played like dog crap though lol

It is usually in much better shape. 

 

Had I known it was CPO, I would have walked. 

 

Greens were fantastic, rest of the course not so much. Easily half of the fairways hadn't seen a mower in over a week. The bunkers need work and the green surrounds and fringes need a lot of work. 

 

It's been a few years since they opened after the floods, it's time for the grounds crew to do their job. It's not worth the premium right now.

It went cpo this year as last year I was driving all over it. Every direction. 
I am glad they are trying to save the fairways even at the expense of slow rounds. 
played water valley yesterday and enjoyed it again. The twilight special is great and is a fair price.

I usually play heritage pointe a few times a year but today was my first time out there this year. Place is in the best shape I have ever seen it! Greens are great right now!

What is about the latest date you can plan to play at Jasper and Banff? I am guessing November would be out of the question.

Absolutely, most courses in Calgary area close thanksgiving monday which is October 10 this year. I'd expect Banff to close first weekend of October.

Shot low round of the season today, came home with same ball, couple birdies helped, the birdie on #17 was memorable.

 

Season is coming to a close in a month, hope everyone is playing well.

Played in a scramble today at woodside with the mother in law for her place of works annual tourney. Nice greens and conditions but man I do not like the layout there. Super short as well

That's tempting... Would be back to back rounds at Delacour for me (played there last weekend). Not that that's necessarily a bad thing.

Sooner the better. If I don’t find anyone I will change it to a solo. Frees up a spot for someone else to book

It was a BTY warm day for the Sylvan $10K Cash Scramble, 20 four person teams (women participated) in the event this afternoon.  $200.00 per person entry fee total pay out was $9,600.00.  I didn't play but watched a few teams come in from my back deck on #18 a par 5.  Seen some big drives, had to be in the order of 330-340 yds, which leaves P/W to green for eagle or birdie putt. The beverage girl sure was busy.

 

I believe the solo winner was from Red Deer, they shot 29/28 = 57 or -15 under.

Played Mickelson on Saturday, greens were fast but receptive, fw's were firm and fast. Land movement is pretty dramatic and its fun to actually see your ball bounce and be able to use contours. Course is growing on me.

Round # 49, played well today, a couple birdies helped break 80, peaked late in season.

 

My P.B. ever drive that bounced off the gravel cart path that ended up in middle of the fairway. 

 

My home course is closing on Oct 11th.

I played ht for the first time tonight. Prob the nicest day for golf the whole year. 25 zero wind, the fall Colors. It was an epic one! The course is actually super nice, I really enjoyed it!  Shot 75 from the 2nd deck from the back. Man those greens are slick and the chipping Areas are sooo tight l. Loved it!

Played The Track in Langdon today in gale force winds which was fun.

Had played it early in the season so it was good to see the progress they are making getting it back into shape. Still a long way to go to repair the damage and neglect from Windmill.
 

Greens are getting better, there is only a couple that are really bad, the patch jobs that they did took really well. They aren't very receptive and are really hard to hold with a mid-iron, which bring me to the next point. The aprons are garbage, they are super bumpy and inconsistent. We saw some really weird bounces in our group today that left us scratching our heads. The bunkers are a bit on the firm side, but they had done a nice job of fluffing them and were pretty playable. I'm hoping they start up a grass nursery for both the fairways, they are going to need it for the next couple years.
