PXG 0311 Wedges - Looking for Reviews

I might pull the trigger on 0311 P Irons 4-Gap with Tour Issue S400.

Im debating on the 0311 Wedges but there isn't much info or reviews on them.

Can anyone give me some real world reviews on these Wedges? How is the spin compared to SM7? Feel similar to irons? Good out of the sand?

What would the 0311 Wedge Grinds to comparable to in the Vokey SM7 series? S Grind? M Grind?

Thanks!!

I have a set of 0311T irons with a 50/12, 56/14, 60/12 set of 0311 wedges. Not my gamer set, but I play with it often enough on weekends.

Re the wedges - Absolutely lovely feel, great control and spin, the grind is very versatile and I have no problems laying the 56 or 60 flat open for flops or getting out of the sand. They are forged so they are very soft feeling and conistent with the rest of the set. The 60/12 feels closer to the M and S grinds and the 56/14 to the S grind but I’m not a skilled enough player to be able to precisely tell.

If you like a sharper click off the face from your wedges, then the Vokeys or T7s are a great option.

FWIW - in my book, the best wedges were the Nike VR Pros and Engage series. Still have them and they beat everything else hands down on feel, performance and versatility.

I don’t really have anything to compare them to, except each other (0311/0311t) I personally like the 0311, maybe feels a bit softer? But are more grind offerings in 0311t. I won’t take them out of my bag until there useless. Play a full Titleist bag after dumping pxg irons, but couldn’t part with wedges, love them

*also like the aesthetics of 0311 vs 0311t having a lack of names etc, but milling is beautiful on 0311t, so both are nice...just my 2pennies

Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't the pxg wedges milled from a block of steel? Do they forge the block of steel first then?

They have the 0311, which are the less expensive, and the 0311T, which are milled and at $700 per pop. They are wedges, which typically get replaced every few years. Good luck, and more power to you on the 0311T.

I game a set of the 0311’s...would agree with what has been said already, nice feeling wedge, softer than most with maybe the exception being some JDM brands...but much softer than all big OEM’s.

Spin is solid and consistent...attributed to design and CG placement...as opposed to micro milling....my preferred choice as I get more consistent reactions.

Overall, nice shape and design...would have like a few more bounce, grind options personally to choose from...but what they have is pretty solid and versatile for an all purpose wedge.

I haven’t been a fan of Vokey’s since the SM5’s personally....I have seen and toyed with the 6’s and 7’s...between the two I would go with the PXG...unless you need a specific grind or bounce for your playing conditions...and their milled ones are way to expensive to even consider IMO!

I just started playing with a set of 0311P's 4-G and 0311T sugar daddy 54/60. I've exclusively played forged Titleist or Mizuno irons for the last 15 years. The wedges are flat out awesome, they are so soft, and go through the turf so well. I also believe that the with the weighted screws they are much more forgiving than my TVD Vokey M grinds. I can't say enough how happy I am with the PXG gen2's and these wedges. The gen1's were not very good, once I hit the gen2 p's I was instantly in love. Workable, forgiving and SOFT! I have pro-modus 105x's hardstepped once, and these things are buttery smooth. Tour issue x-100's in the wedges. Distance control is also very good with the wedges and irons. The first gen irons weren't very consistent.

Spin is awesome. I almost need to practice a lot of the sand to wear them down they spin so much (I'm a high spin player as is). Turf interaction and sand play with the sugar daddy grind is great. I compare the sugar daddy to the S grind, the Zulu to the M grind.

I would spend the extra money for the milled wedges, you can feel the difference.

I’m sorry but I would literally quit golf before I put a club in my bag that said “sugar daddy” on it.

I love my PXG irons but 100% agree with you. Different strokes for different folks and all that.

I have a set of Gen 1 0311T’s in the basement right now. Very nice clubs but not better than my Hogans.

I just think that Bob does what Bob wants to do, and Bob may be a Billionaire but he’s still got one foot in the trailer park.

Naming a wedge “Sugar Daddy” is so Tacky and so trashy that I can’t believe it actually happened.

The people that work for him must have been squirming in their seats and biting their tongues so hard they drew blood when he laid that giant Turd of an idea on the table.

Yeah I just bought some of the raw MD4 in an attempt to not spend $3,000 CAD on three pxg T wedges.

I have been seriously contemplating going with a two wedge setup (51 & 58 or 60) which would put me at $2,000...still seems crazy but I am going to own them eventually I just can't help myself.

Too funny, I've been contemplating the same thing. Thankfully I really like my MD3 wedges, but like you stated I'm sure I will give in at some point.

Impressive bag JBake....just curious since you are a low Handicap as to why the model P irons instead of the model T?

Did you try both or what?

Would not quit, but it would show up on a Classified quicker than you can say "Sugar Daddy."

The name just shows "inner Bob."
