If I were going to spend the money for a bag I'd carry for a decade or more, it would probably be a custom Vessel, and most likely the original Luxury Cart... apart from the Mizuno Pro Cart, it's about the only Staff Bag style/quality Cart bag I've found, OEM or not.

I went through 5-6 bags trying to find the perfect bag and ended up being disappointed each time. I preferred something without a huge OEM logo on it, something classic that would pair nice with Seamus type head covers, had some good pockets ina good layout, big enough to carry 14 clubs, and that I could carry or ride on the course with.

I found Vessel! Holy smokes, is it the right bag! I can not say enough about it. 14 way Top with full length dividers. It is not a super light bag but is very comfy to carry.

I have a Vessel standbag and it’s great except I wish it was the 14 way divider top and not 6. Tough to get my clubs and Midsize grips in there nicely most of the time. Next time it’s 14 way or bust for me.

I would have to disagree 14 way dividers do not at all make it easier to get clubs in and out.

I ordered a custom Vesel , back in March. Still not here. Called customer service several times , stuck on a boat from China they say. They offered me a $50 gift card for my inconvenience, I responded why don’t you just fed ex my bag when it finally gets here ? Still awaiting an answer. Why would I want a $50 gift card to spend on another product from a company that can’t deliver on its promise in the first place ? Disappointed to say the least.

It appears that vessel is having MAJOR supply issues. They have been OOS on their black player's 6-way divider bag for more than 3 months now. They are not even bothering responding to chat or e-mail.

I know you said no SM bags, but I know you can get them without logos if you look around. I have the SM Elite stand bag and its just so cool. Made out of ballistic nylon. The no logo with the SM quality.

 

That said, if I was in the market for one more bag, it would be a Vessel, they're soooooo sick.

Update ...

Got a call from Nick over at Vessel. Guess I’m not the only one, but they assured me that they are going to make it right. Should have bag in hand next week. I can say that Nick was very easy to talk to and understanding of why I wasn’t happy. I’ll see what happens next Friday.

FYI: Vessel now has the black 6-way stand back in stock... and they are OOS on the 14 divider top.

word on the street is that jones is going to be putting out a stand bag with a bigger opening. but it's an unverified story.

 

I can verify it... the new utility stand bag will be available at the end of September. The top opening will be bigger and shaped a little differently to accommodate a fat gripped putter... that's straight from the Jones rep in Portland. Color choices will be limited.

Not yet, I mostly walk so I'll play two round with it this weekend but neither will be on a cart.

I couldn't get the link to your review to work with the new site change over I assume. Is there a divider in the top of the bag that runs the length of the bag or is the leather strap up top the divider? Also, is there anything (additional sleeve or pocket) inside the large pocket to house phone, tees, rangefinder etc?

Vessels are really nice. Jones are good quality and will last a long time. Stitch is too expensive for what you are getting and quality isn't great yet. I'd say look at Vessels and Jones.

Vessel quality is sub par for a $350 bag and their customer service is terrible. I purchased two bags early last year. One has the abrasion marks where the cart strap goes thru. One developed a tear. The other a very deep scratch/ minor tear. They would not replace even though the bad used less than 10 times. They said it was normal wear/ tear. Terrible company that does not honor their craftsmanship warranty.

TM has Flextech with no logos. It is a great bag. I also have a Jones Utility. The Jones has a cool factor to it while the TM is awesomely functional.

I am currently looking as well. Had an Iliac until last Novevber. It was good, but not sure I like the looks of their new carry/cart line. My walking bag is a Jones bag and it is quite good, but just a bit too small for 14 clubs and headcovers. I am currently leaning towards a Shapland but they are a bit behind in production and am told the new bag will not be ready till June or July.

Saw a GFore this weekend and considered it in the past. The size is right but not sure I want the logos.

Not sure if you have made a decision yet, but I just got a Jones Greyson Trouper bag and the straps are the worst of any carry bag I’ve ever owned, the tangle and are essentially useless if you want to have both straps on. Will be going to a Vessel Lite bag.

For anyone who is looking for a high quality carry bag, I strongly recommend you check out Shapland. I have done a ton (too much) of research on every bag you can name including all those discussed in this thread and in the end, the Shapland came out on top. I have the Stitch SL1 and when I play, I walk, but I don’t carry. I put it on a Clicgear Rovic that has an Alphard Gen 1 Ewheels attached. The Stitch doesn’t have great storage, but I have 14 clubs in it with no tangle, and it’s a smaller bag than I normally used. I anticipate keeping the Stitch a long time.

One round in the books with the new SL2. Will give it a 1-10 ranking on a few topics IMHO Everyone is different so take it for what it’s worth. Walked 18 with it in right at 3 hours 

Style - 9

really like the finish and looks of the bag. Material says quality. Looked awesome across the green. 

Balance - 9 

Had absolutely no issues. Many bags feel like the club head side is too heavy, but this was very balanced all day. No leg droop 

Straps - 8

adequate and comfortable. Better than their old SL1’s for sure. I had no shoulder fatigue after the round, but I do walk almost every round.

 

Club tangle - 7

I carried 14 clubs today. No real issues, had to stand the bag upright a time or 2 to get the club all the way to the base. Better than the ping craz e lite that I was using before. With headcovers, the top of the bag is crowded. A bit annoying but nothing serious. 

 

Storage -5 

Clearly not with this bag was designed for, I carried six golf balls, a bottle of water a handful of tees and three gloves. I took the rain cover out, and stitch with smart that they made this rain cover a thin nylon similar to others versus the old version that was bulky. I do miss a Velcro attachment for my glove, but that’s no big deal. I rotate between putting the rangefinder in the pocket with the balls, or using the magnetic sleeve and attaching it to one of my irons. The water bottle does in French on the ball pocket a bit, but I had no issues getting a rangefinder in and out. The larger pocket could hold a light jacket with no issues. Not quite sure how I want to organize ball markers and tees etc. I may just use a very small valuables pouch for them in the larger compartment. This is not a bag would want to use if you wanted to make sure you had everything you could possibly need for a tournament round of golf, rain suit, rain gloves, other necessities etc.

In case not, I like my Stitch SL1 for walking and pushing but wish it was a little bigger to prevent tangle. Looks cool and you don’t see many, if any on the course.
