My friend was in Golf Galaxy and they had ONLY 2 Tommy Armour SS hybrids. Each has a Grafffalloy PL blue shaft in it. They could NOT pull up a SKU number for their price anywhere in the computer anywhere, the mgr sold them to him for $9.99 each!

I later saw them for about $89....

OK Not clubs be yesterday at the clubhouse the Junior program was selling pristine headcovers for $1 dollar each....bought a Taylor Made for my Rossa putter (savings = about $25), and a 907D1 zipper headcover. Probably saved myself $50 total (I didn't have headcovers for my putter and my soon-to-arrive-in-the-mail driver).

Snatched two sets of Ping I5s from Golfsmith online's Pre-owned.

1 set was 318.00 and the 2nd which was in mint condition was 349.00

Sold the first set for 450.

I got my Miura CB-201's a while back for $325 in a 9.5 condition. I'd placed a bid and contacted the seller and told him to LMK if his reserve was not met, I was local and might be interested in a cash buy. He emailed me back and said come get 'em, $325. I drove up just south of Boston and met him at a range. I could not believe it, he had them listed as 7.5 and they were mint.

Another one was a top amatuer in my area we did a move for. He had a "POD" out in the driveway and it was full of clubs. Staff bag of circle T's, several Titleist prototype iron sets and about 15-20 staff bags total in there. He hands me a wedge that says "Prototype" and the initials S.S. on it. "That's a good sand wedge" he says "you'll like it". Awesome!!

15* 904F with S300 for $50. Club was a demo but they had always taped the face before someone hit it. This club is mint.

Tommy Armour 845 IWood, 21*, brand new from Golfsmith for $30. First hybrid I have owned and it is a fantastic club.

ALmost new looked like store demo, Titleist 904F 15 with S300 steel $39. I wanted steel and it was at Golfsmith. Looked on ebay for a 19 degree and placed only bid on NEW 904f 5 wood. Won it for $5. SO have 3 and 5 wood matching and spent $44.

Back when the R7 425 was 400 new, i found one brand new for 180, and for an extra 20 bucks i got half a tour weight kit... shame i don't like the driver that much though.

I also found a Cleveland CG10 56 degree wedge with a "T" stamp on it, i'd say 7-8\10 condition, but the grooves are EXTREMELY sharp still. 15 bucks.

Got a set of Wilson DI-5 irons.. for 150 brand new, and the clubhouse even threw in a few range tokens.(Back when these irons were around... 500 new)

Got a set of X-Forged's for free... won the pga contest here at wrx Big thanks to GPP golf for those.

You mean WHEN new, no ?

Frankly, when you're NOT buying the current year's stuff the "value" fluctuates wildly and you're only getting a GREAT deal if you're getting it WAY UNDER market prices [u]at the time you purchase[/u].

You guys certainly realize how much clubs depreciate only 1 years after you buy them, no ? If a 2nd new model comes out that make that 2 year old model virtaully worthless except in the rare circumstances of say Eye2's (or some such)

went to golfers warehouse about two years ago, ended up buyin a used set of mizuno mp-14's 3-pw for 150 bucks, used them for about a year and a half and sold them on ebay for about 250 bucks, so i made a hundred bucks for using a sick set of irons for a year, then blew about 800 on mp-32's

Not me, but my golf buddy had been intersted in a Callaway FT-I to demo last month. The course didn't sell Callway, but the Assistant Pro had one that had barely been hit in his car. He let him demo it and my friend POUNDED it for the entire round. The guy was on the phone when my buddy came in to ask about buying it. The guy held his hand over the phone and said he'd take $200 for it.

 

Not only was the driver practically brand new, but it had Speeder 569 shaft in it. It would easily retail for 5 bills, if not more....

I'd already posted a while back in this thread. Since then I picked my driver, an R7TP with TP Speeder 757 for $74 with tax off the used rack in a solid 8.5. Also picked up the CB1 for $65 off Ebay with a V2 tour shaft. Sold the V2 for $50 and put in a CompNT for $30. So I guess that's about $45 for that club. Decent deals, more so since they are bagged and going nowhere soon.
