Dunked my longest shot ever today

Longish par 5 into the wind this morning. Hit a nice tee shot, then a nice 3 wood to the middle of the fairway 95 yards to the green. Into the wind I decided to hit a 3/4 pitching wedge. The darn ball never left the pin. It slammed dunked for an eagle. Half the ball mark was in the hole and I ruined the hole for anyone else. I fixed it best I could for groups behind.

You need to change the story to make it GolfWRX worthy. 95 yards uphill, into a 40 mph wind with a 64-degree wedge. Nice shot! Congrats on the dunk.

Very cool! Could you hear it from that distance smack the stick/cup as it went in? I know you were stoked after pulling that off! Never slammed dunked one but I have holed out for eagle and really didn't care what happened the rest of the round. A picture of the torn up hole would make a nice avatar.

We all heard it hit the flag hard. We were looking for the ball rolling/bouncing away from the hole. The ball just plain slammed straight in. No roll no bounce.

 

I don't carry my cell on the course. I'm retired and don't even want to hear it when I'm playing.

Congratulations! That's an awesome feeling when that happens. It's been a couple of years for me, but last time it happened I did it in back to back rounds at my home course on two different holes (both for eagle).

I've only swished one once, from about 35 yards. It's so strange when it happens!

I understand the part about not carrying the cell on the course and wish I didn't have to bring mine. It seems as there is always some calamity at my house and my wife or daughter just HAVE to call me during a round. It certainly messes up my concentration. Back in the summer on vacation I was playing a round while wife and daughter are shopping. I get a call that my wife had backed into a car at the mall on my truck and did pretty good damage. I had no ride and she couldn't leave the scene. Talk about blowing your concentration! More power to you for going cell less on the course.

I dunked one a couple years ago that absolutely ruined the hole.... It hit the bottom of the cup and bounced so high I missed the green... Still salty.

Yes this is golfwrx...... Has to be over 200 yards for an Albatross as said into a headwind for anyone to take notice.

 

I've had 2 that were blind shots that no one saw. Always cool searching for a ball that is in the bottom of the cup.

The same thing happened to me last week. I was experimenting some and hit a 3 wood off the tee rather than driver on the 2nd hole at my course. I ended up right beside the 150 marker with an awkward ball above feet lie. I basically had to guess how much the ball would work right to left. Apparently I guessed right as the ball never touched the surface of the green. Just heard the clink from the fairway and no ball. Didn’t let myself fully believe it had happened until I saw it in the hole.
