Callaway Optifit vs Optifit 2 Adapter

I'm struggling to find any info on this anywhere...

 

Can someone point me in the direction of a list of which heads each Optifit adapter is compatible with please?!

There are actually three different readily available Callaway driver adapters. The first was called Optiforce. It fits all adjustable drivers up to and including the X-hot. The second is call Optifit. There are two different models of this tip but they both fit the same drivers. The first model had a plastic tip and Callaway had some breakage problems with this so they redesigned it with a metal tip. Either Optifit adapter will fit any driver after and including the X2-hot. Callaway driver and fairway adapters are the same. Hybrid adapters are a little shorter and don’t fit driver/fairway clubs. There is a tour only double cog version of the original Optiforce adapter that allows more adjustment than the standard Optiforce adapter but they are not that common. Pretty sure I’m right on this info. If I’ve made a mistake someone please correct.

So are you saying that an Optifit adapter will fit all the Callaway woods from X2-hot up to and including their current offerings, Epic etc?

 

If so, is the 'Optifit 2' just the metal tipped version?

All good info except the names. 'Optiforce' isn't really the name of that first gen adapter. In fact, the 'Optiforce' head was the first head to use the second generation adapter and because of that golfworks.com uses 'optforce' for the new gen adapter and Billy Bob's uses 'force fit' for the new gen.

 

But it's hardly surprising as naming conventions for Callaway adapters is pretty confusing and varies a lot between the different sources.

Yes, Optifit will work with an driver from the X2 hot on to the present Rogue. The Optifit 2 is just the metal tipped version. The plastic tipped version also works with the same clubs as the Optifit 2. As I said, Callaway has some breakage issues with the first Optifit that prompted a redesign. Although I never had an issue with one. Hope that is the info you need.

Only reference to 'optiforce' adapters I've ever seen has been with respect to the second generation by the aftermarket sources.

 

The two cog version of the first gen adapter was the "tour authentic" adapter. It actually didn't increase the total range of the adjustment by very much but it did allow for finer tuning of the adjustment. The main cog was something like +/- 1* loft, the second cog was something like +/- 0.3*
