How are these woods? I feel like this deal is too good to not take. Anyone with any insight? I have no desire to spend $150-300 on a fairway wood that I may use only a few times in an entire round.

I have the Bio Cell + 3 wood and it is one of my favorite clubs I've ever owned. I had the Amp Cell before it and really liked it.

 

For the price I think you'll be very happy with it.

For that price you can't go wrong. The BioCell line was a winner and I personally owned the BC driver, BC+ fairway and BC hybrid and still play the fairway and the hybrid. You may want to upgrade the stock shaft as I really disliked the Project X stock shaft in my driver and hybrid.

The link shows only lefty, so my assumption is you're left handed. If you have a shaft you like and have clubmaking ability, there's a steal on some lefty 3/4 bio cell heads on ebay.

I rebought the the Bio Cell + 3/5 woods recently and reshafted them with Tensei Pro Blues. As good as anything out there still. Perfect size.

ive tried both m2 and epic fairway woods and drivers but i keep coming back to the bio cell driver and woods theyre really forgiving and long

As you can tell from my sig, I have quite a few Cobra FWs. I have found the BC 3/4 & 5/7 to be some of the best HEADS they have made for distance, reliability and play off the deck. HOWEVER, you will see that I AM NOT using stock shafts!! Stock Cobra FW shafts are typically to loose and light for me (YMMV). But, I urge you to find a proper FW shaft and install in this if you get it. It will be the deciding factor in how well you play the club. And at that price, you can't go wrong.

I played bio cell and amp cell for a few years.

Excellent clubs at a low price.

Global golf did have shafts on ebay for $15-$20 with adapter and grip.

You can combine for low shipping.

I have the bio cell + 3-4 wood set to 14.5D and love the thing. Bomb balls off the tee and easy to hit off the deck too.

I played the bio cell and liked it, but I have to say I liked the fly-z and the f6 even more.

The Bio Cell is still one of the best fw woods ever made imo, I had it in a 5 wood and it was great out of tough lies and just as good from the fairway, one thing that stood out to me was how straight it is, just deadly accurate on approach shots.

Bio Cell + 3/4 IMO is the best fairway wood Cobra has ever made. Perfect size, plays great off the tee and from the fairway, fairly forgiving, and very LONG.

I have a fly z that i love, knocked down the loft to 17 and just got a XR16 that it seems you have too

so i'll play both and just adjust the fly z to more of a 5-7 wood loft.

 

any reason you' want to switch out of the XR16?

I do as well and have been for a couple years now. To be honest and unbiased though, I have not tried any other 3-wood since.

Here’s mine. I put it up against EVERYTHING every year. It’s just so consistent and workable for me. Totally lucked into the head/shaft combo too when I was buying it. Haven’t seen any with the same setup either.

Anyone that's LH can build some GREAT clubs for DIRT CHEAP right now with all the BioCell and Adams stuff that Hurricane and DTG are closing out.

 

I'm about to put together a set of Bio Cell + irons with heads purchased from Hurricane on eBay (already had my preferred shafts, Dynalite Gold XP S300 laying around). Since stock is getting low in RH I put the set together in a mix of Black, Red, and Blue colors... luckily I was able to alternate the colors sequentially which should keep my OCD in check. $110 for the heads and I think $35 for the shafts (Mizuno pulls with good GP grips that will probably get replaced anyway), so $145 for a brand new set. I also grabbed a regular Bio Cell 5i head to experiment with mixing in as well. I'm just waiting for shims to come in since the shafts are .355 and the heads are .370.

 

For anyone interested, the Bio Cell + iron heads at least do not have the black outer-cavities as pictured... they're a darker grey/gunmetal color like what's pictured in the official WRX review from back in 2014. I like this better than the black backs, but just a heads up so you know what to expect.

 

I'm tempted to pick up one of the red Bio Cell 5/7w or silver/peach Bio Cell 3/5w heads they have remaining in stock for $40 and $30 respectively since I have a spare made-for 60Q4 Red Tie from an F6 driver I could tip trim and throw in it, but either would just end up in the backup bag and I have an X-Hot TC (Tour Issue) 5w in there already that I'm pretty happy with.

Bought the Bio Cell fairway wood on eBay for under $50 (left handed as well); re-shafted with a Even Flow Blue and it is such a solid club. Got the hybrids from Hurricane as well and they are the straightest hybrids I have ever hit!
