Not very good at estimating putt distances

Accuracy is spotty at times

He has to be or have someone inside the ropes to get view of all tigers shots like he does. The on course reporters are constantly giving updates on the mics to people behind the scenes of where the shot went etc. I think tracker is getting them from someone like that. I was just at the memorial following tiger a few days and I looked for him. there were no guys inside the ropes using their phones. On course reporters though inside the ropes giving updates on every shot with their little mics

Not saying you're wrong, but why does he have to be inside the ropes?

Edit: sorry I missed that part of your post somehow. I think he could be doing what he is doing from outside the ropes.

Or, he could be one of the reporters.

He's on course, inside the ropes. It's more than one person although it seems the majority of time it's the same person, a senior editor at Golf Channel. I've seen him on TV a couple of times, but I know who I'm looking for.

He doesn't tweet from inside the ropes at the Masters as there are no phones allowed.

You ever followed Tiger? Lol, you are lucky to get a good view of his shot, let alone every single one. The ploy that he’s on course makes it more interesting to the followers

Good point but I still think it's possible.

But he's most likely a reporter or Golfchannel person like Iceman said.

It makes sense that it's his job to be there. Otherwise who could swing going to every single Tiger round? You'd have to be a retired Tiger fanatic with nothing else to do...which I guess is possible : )

You guys still think tiger tracker is walking course with Tiger? I was at pga with tiger and my phone was useless, absolutely no signal especially to be able to tweet every shot. I’ve got latest iPhone with Verizon, one of best providers. His followers rely on him to provide updates, no way it’s reliabje to be walking with tiger and tweeting.

Yeah you're probably right. Then what would he be using? A shot tracker online?

I'm sure you've seen that "Tiger Tracker" Twitter account has this as his bio: GolfChannel.com legend Tiger Tracker tracks Tiger Woods Expect tons o' tweets (all of them ) while he's playing"

And this link in his bio: https://www.golfchan...o/tiger-tracker

So he obviously has some strong tie to GolfChannel.

He’s got ties to golf channel, they always have someone following tiger with microphones reporting his shots back to crew. He’s getting updates and tweeting them out, same with the photos

There you go. It's one or more people sitting in the GolfChannel crew area behind the scenes getting tips from the on-course person. Mystery solved.

I’ve been to a few tournaments and I’ve never seen someone tweeting from inside the ropes plus many times phone signals go completely out from the tiger crowds. I’m thinking he’s behind the scenes getting updates from the on course golf channel reporters and tweeting them out.

There’s gotta be a WAN set up for press and production crew on the course. Highly doubt they’re relying on cellular.

That could be, I’m not sure what all goes into networking at these events. Anyone ever seen signal for golf channel or something on their phone?

Another thing is the amount of tweet replies he sends out while trying to keep up with tiger. Seems difficult to me

pretty confident it's Rex....verbiage is the same in a lot of the tracker tweets as Rex's articles and on camera comments, plus the personality seems very similar between the two.

"Tiger Tracker joined Golf Channel in 2012, ironically in the midst of Woods’ longest-ever streak without a major. No matter, this intrepid observer has followed Woods across the globe, from Australia to Abu Dhabi to California, providing readers with invaluable insight into golf’s biggest attraction.

Tracker was born, raised and still resides in Las Vegas, where his connection to Woods first began. In 1996, Tracker was working as a standard bearer when Woods won his first PGA Tour event, the Las Vegas Invitational. The story goes that after Woods’ final-round 64, a young TT told him: “Hey, nice playing, Tiger. Congrats on the ‘W.’” To which Woods responded, with a wink: 'Hell, you might be good luck. You should follow me all the time.'

Ever since, Tiger Tracker resolved to take Woods at his word and follow his career with intense interest … unless Tiger is playing poorly, of course. Because if Woods doesn’t care, neither does Tracker.

Though they obviously have met and recognize each other at events, the two never socialize and maintain a respectful, professional distance. Golf Channel prefers that editorial independence, anyway.

The son of a casino owner, Tracker enrolled at Pepperdine University to study economics, though his close friends have joked for years that he only attended the private school near Malibu to enjoy the, um, scenery, both natural and otherwise. He dropped out after two years, upon discovering that the educational system was too confining for his broad, insatiable educational appetite.

Though he never earned a degree, Tracker considers himself a student of life, having devoted himself to the study of various subjects in his world travels. He’s a world-rated baccarat player and has a black belt in five forms of martial arts, including Jiu-jitsu and Surma stick fighting. He’s also a highly skilled free-solo rock climber whose conquests include the Mercer River Canyon in Yosemite National Park and Kathmandu Valley in Nepal.

Golf? Well, yes, of course Tracker plays golf. Once a scratch, he has since slipped to a 4-handicap, but he always brings his sticks to play the Monday (or Saturday) after Tiger’s events. If you see him at your local 19th hole, order Tracker his favorite adult beverage – a Crown and ginger ale. You just have to figure out who he is first."

I’m pretty confident it’s Rex, I was at the Open and heard a couple guys in golf channel jackets on walkie talkies before Tiger’s Tuesday practice round saying “Yeah, Rex we think he’s gonna come through one tee”, there was a lot of discussion about whether or not he was going to play the front or back so it made sense. Yes, I realise this is sounds made up so read into it what you will. Also I would say it’s about a 30 second delay from when Tiger hits a shot (real time not TV) to when the tweet goes out, I feel like it would take longer if he wasn’t out there and was getting updates from other guys. There were a lot of people inside the ropes with Tiger’s group and a few of them were on their phones so I don’t think it would be that tough to keep up.

What makes you think it's BS. I mean, I have no idea one way or the other except for employing Occam's Razor would tend to make me believe it's real. It seems like a completely pointless exercise for TGC to take one of their own writers, give him an alter ego, an incredibly detailed, fanciful bio, and send him out to tweet about Tiger's rounds. What's the point? Why not have their writer, oh I don't know, tweet under his own name about Tiger's rounds? It's not like Tiger Tracker has blazingly hot, controversial takes which cry out for anonymity. For me to believe in some Rube Goldberg, byzantine journalistic exercise there has to be a reason behind it.

"black belt in 5 forms of martial arts including surma stick fighting," lol, do you know what surma stick fighting is? Look it up, pretty sure you can't even get a black belt in it.
