Vokey Swing Weight Question

Specs are listed on Titleist's website that Vokey's are D5 with the stock shaft (DG S200)...if I put Project X 6.0 in instead any idea what the impact on swing weight would be? Would be putting on an MCC Plus 4 grip if that makes any difference.

Lighter shafts generally lower swingweight. It does depend on the balance point of the specific shaft However.

 

Heavier grips lower swingweight as well, but the plus 4 is not a heavy model. It’s 52 grams. A midsize is heavier and would lower SW a bit.

 

I’d guess the shaft would lower SW 1/2 point to a point but it’s irrelevant if you custom order. You can tell Titleist to retain the SW or even make it heavier if you like. They can put a tip weight in it if they need to.

 

 

Edit...Very few people can sense one swingweight difference in a club. I wouldn’t ever worry about one SW.

If you order from Titleist they will take care of SW.

You are dropping around 9 grams of shaft weight and adding a grip that is roughly the same weight at a .580 Tour Velvet, so overall your static will go down slightly and swing weight may dip the slightest amount as well. The drop in overall static weight will be more noticeable than the change in swing weight but even still that is going to be fairly subtle in a wedge, less subtle in a longer club. Unless you are super sensitive to these things I wouldn't change anything, and if ordered from Titleist they will likely make the necessary adjustments anyway.

Call customer service ahead of time and tell them the components you want on the wedge and they can ball park it for you. Then decide during purchase if you pay the upcharge to increase sw.
