Wilson has waited a while to replace the FG 100 blade. Not sure if its on the horizon but I'll be eagerly waiting for its arrival until then.

 

New Ping stuff is underwhelming (to me), the new Srixon line looks to be similar to what's been out there for them. Hmm...

 

Idk when it's coming but the Taylormade P series irons are a welcome change. Kinda wondering how they'll improve upon them.

 

Have you seen the new Wilson FGV6 Raw irons? Had I just not bought something they would have made it into my bag. Despite what a lot of people "think" Wilson should charge for their irons. I just don't get how people can claim Wilson irons are sub standard and do not deserve to be at a certain price point.

The reason people believe they are sub standard are the same reasons people make comments like ping, wilson, and srixon are underwhelming. If there was a new product convention ping, wilson and srixon would have their products on a stage under a spot light, while taylormade and callaway would have huge explosions and pyrotechnics, and the poor unknowing masses are drawn to the pretty colors.

I just found a 980f for $15 that turns the clocks back 10years. I never touch my existing 3 wood, so it's nice to have something I like back in the bag. Next comes a 983k driver. I know on paper it's a step backwards, but if it goes where I want it to it's a step forward

Not much really, happy with what I have.

 

Always enjoy looking at what Titleist and Mizuno come out with, but as you can see by what’s in my bag im not rushing out to replace things every season.

 

What really interests me are the new truly hand crafted wedges and irons available. National Custom and Artisan are doing some awesome stuff and I would love some National Custom irons if money were no object.

Interested to see if TM sticks with the Twist face concept on their new drivers. I'm still playing my Titleist 910, so the new releases are starting to interest me more and more. I'm a standard high toe misses left, low heel misses right player, so I'm torn on the twist face idea.

 

Also interested to see what Mizuno comes out with to replace the T7 wedges. I absolutely love the look of them, so interested to see what's next (I wouldn't mind a deal on some T7s).

 

I'm probably closer to replacing my 3 wedges than I am a new driver (hard to convince myself to replace a driver that I feel is working just fine, although I will get fit for my new driver when that time comes).

That's kind of my issue. Apart from getting fitted and possibly dialing in my launch angle and spin rates (if they aren't ideal), I just don't see a new driver as an "upgrade" and certainly can't justify getting a new driver for $400 just because. My FOMO isn't helping considering my brother and father just both bought new drivers. lol

I currently play 712 CB's and was about to purchase JPX 900 tours.....I wonder if the replacement for these will be nicer / better? should I wait?

None, played enough new gear to know nothing is gonna be much different than what's already out

I have reached a strange state of inner contentment with my bag, which feels like it may last.

 

I have cleared my garage of all the excess gear this summer by gifting or selling and now have my set of clubs, cart bag and electric trolley, a lighter carry bag and pull trolley that fits it, as an alternative for traveling light, and a number of putters and 6 pairs of shoes. In other words, Im like 90 percent of golfers. I haven't been to a gold store for weeks as, quote "I don't need anything"

 

Im always looking for the perfect putter though. I have found perfect function in the Spider (fitted, works well, looks horrible like a childs toy) so I'm vulnerable to a classy looking mallet.
