Am I being a pita? (Ebay question)

I always ask questions about the detail of the golf clubs if it was missing from the listing content.

 

No response, no bidding ! In this case, listing did not disclose the complete detail, buyer also dis not ask question regarding the basic question of standard L/L/L of the wedge .

From the point of the seller, not expecting him to know the OEM std. L/L/L as he stated when changing the grips did not notice modification of the shaft for extension.......The std. length is different from each OEM and models. From the point of the buyer, He should expect the std. OEM spec when item is not stated otherwise.

 

I'm not even sure if there is a reason for discount from the seller, but, buyer certainly has ground to "return and refund" after checking out the std spec from the OEM is not matching the item. The previous owners might have re-shafted the wedges as often times it was done.

Seller should disclose anything that isn't standard. That said, as a general rule of thumb when buying anything used, you should ask questions about length, loft, lie and who did the install etc. unless you are willing to accept whatever you get and make changes as necessary.

While it's a bit of a hassle removing grips and cutting to length is not the hardest thing in the world to accomplish. The Seller should refund a few bucks to allow this project to take place. Live and learn, we've all been here. At least the wedges aren't damaged or not as discribed could be worse.

When cr@p like this happens i would always take into consideration how much you paid for them in the first place.

 

If you got them for an absolute steal and the heads are good, then i would probably just sort it myself, and i have done in the past.

 

If you paid top dollar because it was exactly what you wanted, then id ask the seller to foot the bill for some new grips, which is what ive also done in the past, i probably should stop buying from Ebay to be honest lol

Did you measure the wedges in a method other than comparing against other clubs while in your golf bag? That’s not a true way to measure clubs.

 

I once thought my lob wedge was longer than my 8 iron, but it turned out the wedge was resting on top of an old burrito that had fallen to the bottom of the bag by accident.

A lot of people selling won’t even know they’re longer than standard.

 

Now I take a picture with the club next to the tape measure so people can actually see the length.

I noticed it when I popped them in the bag, and then measured and compared the measurement to the listings on the manufacture's website, wanted to be sure I wasn't just crazy. The burrito story made me legit laugh out loud, thanks for the chuckle.

He probably didn’t know as others have said but he should have offered to cover cost of trimming and or replacing grips . Not knowing something that costs money to fix isn’t a valid excuse.
