Lofts are the same but the sole width increased, the vcog went up, and moi went down. Sounds like they may play a little better for diggers as they also have a blunted leading edge.

Interesting that Britt wrote the lofts would be updated and that seems to be the only spec that didn’t change.

I play DGS300 130 and have played KBS Tour 90 ,  XP 105 , DG120 and even Maltby Pro Series and Modus 120s and 130. I would put the TT score as the most flexible.  Combo flex and just really hard step to get to a “flex” your not effecting the actually stiffness in the butt or mid sections . Even GW says they play more flexible than a KBS 90

I have S400 in my wedges and they don't feel any stiffer than my Score LT, granted my Scores are tipped 1/4" past stiff in my shorter clubs. The Maltby Pro, have one in my driving iron and love it, plays stiff to flex so it's for sure stiffer. The club builder at my course plays KBS 105 Tour in stiff and I'd say they feel stiffer than my Score LT but that could be the large difference in shaft profile.

I recently ordered and received my DBMs and they have met my expectations. I am coming from strong lofts in Titleist AP3s so it is a bit of a mental adjustment on distance - AP3 PW = DBM 9 iron - but loft for loft there isn’t much of a difference.

I knew the DBM+ were coming so I took a bit of a gamble that they would be $50+ per head and thus make make the non + a great value at $35/head. I was also expecting stronger lofts on the DBM+ but they show the same whereas the TE+ are stronger loft. I wonder if the DBM+ specs just didn’t get updated????

Do you have problem with your gap-9 digging?

TE+ and TE+ Black are on the site with pics and specs.

Did they take these down? I can't find it anywhere?

Edit: Found a cache version of the page that doesn't have a picture but has this description:

image.png.8d997770c64bb8679cfad9f46ab62956.png

TLDR: Stronger lofts, slightly higher VCOG (since a lot of people complained about moonballs with these), a less "diggy" sole and a higher MPF rating

They also have a little longer blade length and C-dimension.  Other than the constant offset and basic looking cavity, this is a different design

5g on lead tape on my DBMs helped. I'm still really short with the 4 and 5 iron but I don't think anything can change that. Definitely need to focus on center strikes more than the hot metals.

I had a set of DBM's in the past. They just did not work for my swing. The center of gravity is so low. I hit the ball too high and spiny. Any kind of partial shot would just not go anywhere.

The Hot Metals have a higher center of gravity, along with less loft obviously.

Yeah, just a slight appearance difference.  I'm surprised they were able to justify having forged designs that are this close in size profile and performance details

It makes NO sense- but I really want these now!!     I first fell in love with the M-05 in early 2000's.     I have the Ts- in #1, #2 and #3.   Playing the #3.   I have a set of NV shafts I picked up on sale that may be just right for these!!

Tungsten doesn't really matter at all, if the mass and dimensional characteristics such as the Actual Vertical COG, "C-dimension", and MOI are practically the same.

They use tungsten as one method to move the "C-dimension" or horizontal COG further out on the face.  There are other more basic methods to do this that can be just as effective, such as a shorter hosel and a shallower heel height, which allow more mass to be distributed towards the toe.

I'm not sure if it's the tungsten or not, but the TS3 5 iron has supplanted my DBM 5 iron in the bag.  It feels noticeably more stable at impact vs the DBM.  Night and day.

The TS3 and 4 were so far behind schedule that the TE+ may have just caught up with them. They have never had this sort of new model dump in such a short time frame. But I certainly do get your point.

If they intend on keeping it around as long as the M05/TE/etc. then it makes sense to me.  Clean, no frills design vs. the other more techy models they currently have + future releases.  The ts3 checks a lot of those boxes too, but not all with the progressive cavity.  TE+ should stand the test of time and fit right in!

I would guess that the longer C-dimension of the TS3 is what you're noticing.  It creates a wider effective impact area across the face.

The longer COG or "C-dimension is primarily dictated by the longer blade length of the TS3, which is 3.153" vs 3.103" for the DBM.  It's also nudged further out by a shallower heel height and taller toe.  The Heel and Toe of the TS3 is 1.052" and 2.203" vs the DBM at 1.187" and 2.156".

This results in a C-dimension of 1.463" in the TS3 vs 1.383" for the DBM.

May be having a bit of extra money that I could apply towards new irons.  Which I don't technically need, but why let that stop me?  I find myself intrigued by a 5-GW TS4 / 3-4 TS-1M combo.  Maybe adjusting that split point a bit, but that's what's on the brain at the moment.

Already have a couple different sets of shafts I could use with them.

Hmmmm....   🤔 😁
