Don't wait long to order the set.  Once they hit closeout, things can go out of stock in a hurry.

I understand.  I have the 5-9 heads and now all the shafts.  I'm sticking to Cleveland wedges for 44* and beyond, a 22* Tour Edge specialty club will be the 4i for this set.

I can't describe how good this iron with the GD shaft feels.  I added a 3g tip weight, cut the shaft tip to 1/2" over the spec for stiff (soft stepped 1 time?) and used a Tour Velvet grip.  SW is D1+, I'm usually at D3 to feel the head but for some reason with this combo I can feel the club better than just about anything I've ever owned.

I hope the honeymoon lasts because I went all in on this combo, lol.

Mostly Wishon with a few Tour Edge Exotics, Cobra, Cleveland, and one Odyssey mixed in.

Anyone know how "true to flex" the Score LT shafts trimmed to R flex play? I.e., it's understood that the MPF Pro R flex plays a little stiff.

The TS-3 set came with Dynamic Gold S300 shafts, which are low launching. That's probably not a great thing for my swing, to be honest. I've been playing the KE4 Max with Score LT trimmed to stiff and it's been pretty good, but the height of my shots is passable, not great. I knew this going in and was expecting to have to reshaft them. I figured it would be a good learning project, but I'm torn between going with S or R flex in the Score LT. With the KE4 Max and Score LT S flex, I didn't feel a lot of loading in the shaft. I use a Lag Shot trainer and, to be honest, I love the way loading the shaft feels, so I'm thinking of going R flex. Thoughts?

You could just make 1 club up in a R Flex and see what you think. The shafts are reasonable enough. Test it out before going through all the work and finding out you don't like it. 😁

Additionally, the shafts can be cut to R/S flex - half way between R and S.  Lots of options to dial it in.

You just posted the route you should be going. If you like the way the lag shot feels then you should try to play a softer flex. Odds are stiffer is gonna feel terrible in your hands and you’ll have a problem committing to your full swing.

@ApostateDrive I agree with you.  I’m gushing over my TS3’s also, which I combo with TS4 9i and PW, and a TS1 GW.   So sweet, and so accurate.  I play the LZ shafts, and get good spin mid-trajectory shots that hold greens excellently.

Also, the TS1 GW is the best golf club I have ever had.  A KBS Tour 120S shaft launches straight and super high.  Total darts.  It will never leave my bag.

I acquired a KE4 Tour FDI hybrid 3 this week from @Gdashoff (thanks again!), and gamed it yesterday.  No range time.  Diamante hybrid D+ stiff shaft.  I hit it 6 times and hit fairway middle each time.  (That’s super rare for me.)  I think I need to swing it harder for distance, bc it went long when I did so.  Also very forgiving - one super thin shot was still super straight and only 20 yards short.

Loving my Maltbys.

Had another outing this morning with the TS-3 set and I'm completely smitten with them. I think it's the lower AVCOG, but I'm getting a lot more flushed shots rather than feeling like I'm riding on the edge of thinning it like I did with the KE4 Max. The ball flight is definitely lower than the KE4 Max, which I'll attribute to the shafts. I'm also tending to lose the shot to the left a bit more than I was with the KE4 Max, since the TS-3 are less "point and shoot".

@IndyBonzowhat's up homie?! 😜

I've been thinking about getting a KE4 FDI and was about to pull the trigger and thought maybe a hand picked 19° KE4 MAX instead

You and I are about the same SS and distances from what I've read in your posts. What kind of distance and height/spin are you getting from the FDI?

I like that the MAX weigh just a little more and i would hope they might launch and spin just a bit higher with the right setup. I need a solid 220-230 club

The Maltbysphere continues to grow around me. My sister was in town for Labor Day and we got her set up with a 6,8,PW,GW set of M890 irons. She already has an M890 driver I sent her. We're going to add an M890 4 hybrid to the set.

Also, my boss messaged me this morning looking for advice on upgrading his old hand me down clubs. Looks like we're gonna have an STi2 set headed his way sooner rather than later.

I'm ordering Score LT shafts tonight to reshaft the TS-3.

I love my Ke4 Max for a driving iron, straight bullets around 220. I tried the FDI and it just looked like a chunky iron to me and my brain couldn't get past it.

No. But sometimes I wish I did. I’m a repairer for our local club in Melfort, Sk Canada. Shop garage, and close for winter. Melfort Golf and Country Club. Sometimes folks will head to the US site and spot a club head they like, which is unavailable in Canada on the Canadian site.

You can order from Golfworks USA. Just takes a little longer.

Hey @AZstu324!  Good to see you!

The FDI 3H for me has been a fairway finder.  It’s not crazy long right now, which I attribute to the shaft not being right for me (cannot feel it load), but I still hit it 215 easily and over 220 if I get after it.  I had good luck with it yesterday hitting it off the deck too.  Spin seems a little high off the tee, which again may be the shaft.  I hit it mid-trajectory and wish I hit it a little lower in truth.  So, I have a 2H head and an Atmos Black HB (non-velo) on the way to try, in hope I can hit the 2 or 3 just as straight but a little lower and longer with more roll out.  I will try the Atmos in both, tinkering like you and I tend to do.  (Ha.). As I said initially, I’m a big fan of the FDI.

Maybe I should try the Max too.  With Maltby prices, tinkering is so much easier to justify.

If there's a positive in rising equipment prices, it's that component options have become more viable again.  There was a time not all that long ago that was less true...

The FDI is a beast if you have the right shaft in it and can get past the looks. I love my 19* off the tee, from the fairway and surprisingly in the rough. This club has a firm place in my bag.

I'm going to try to loft up +2* and see what happens otherwise looking for alternative.

OK.  Update from yesterday 9/4... Lofted up +1* or half of what the adapter is capable of (TM 2021 M4 9.5*).  Made a small adjustment in swing on range before playing.  Definitely launched higher and just about eliminated a slice.  Nice high fade or straight.  I still had a push or two but that was just a bad swing.  Average carry was about 225 with little roll (5 yards, maybe).  Because the driver was in play I shot an 85.  No triple bogey's, 4 doubles, 6 bogey's and 8 pars.  Aside from a few miscues and poor club selection I was generally happy with ball striking.  Still hurts that I only get 225yds on a decent drive and 190-205 on a well struck 4W off the deck.

I've been drooling over the TS1-IMs and thinking of doing the max 4 and 5-g TS1-IM but I have a 1 year old and get out to play very infrequently so it's hard to justify.

Just had my first game with my 12 year old this last weekend , very special! Hang in there. Are you plying the same shave in your longer irons or a little lighter?

I'm playing the Maltby MPF graphite in all of them.  Standard 4 iron length.  The 7yr old is into baseball instead of golf so that's where all the other free time goes 🤣

I need Golfworks to make some bats because these two piece carbon fiber bats are ridiculous.

Lol, my son was into baseball until 10, now tennis full time and I’m slowly doing the golf! Yes there are some bad bats, I think you can’t go wrong with a ‘eastern ghost’

Bats...

When I talk to friends still playing softball, I'm thankful I quit playing the game.  Bat tech is scarier than golf club tech...
