Thanks, put an order in on Monday, labor day for the ke tour tc 3 hybrid. Have not heard from them

Could ship by Monday or Tuesday. You might consider giving them a call if you don't hear anything by early next week, since it's been my experience that they won't notify you if something in your club build is out of stock and waiting on parts.

I haven't reshafted them yet. I've had all the supplies to do it in my cart multiple times, but I'm having a hard time pulling the trigger. I'm not sure why, since the DG S300 shaft is definitely not a good fit for me. I need a high launching shaft.

I went to the range this morning and I'm still loving the TS3 heads. When I look at them at address, they look extremely intimidating compared to the longer, bigger KE4 Max. But I somehow manage to keep finding the center with them and I've seen my number of poor shots actually go down

Funny that you say this. I have a set of sti2 irons that I have had for a couple years and I just don’t get along with them but I consistently hit smaller more intimidating club heads better. My wife promised me a new set of irons once I graduate nursing school so I think I’m gonna go ts4,ts3 combo set. I was hitting some Mizuno mp20s at the pga store yesterday like no problem

I should also add I’m a high handicap 18-20 but never get along with big chunky iron heads

Anyone have longer term input of doing a combo set of the TS1 IMs and the TS4s? Happy with the setup? Do you wish you you went a full set of the IMs or 4s instead?

I have the TS3s, but am considering sampling the IMs and TS4s as well. Have enjoyed the TS3, but want a heavier shaft. I think that might help me be a little more consistent with the shorter irons.  Also, would like a thinner profile.

Thanks!

The TS4 look absolutely drop dead gorgeous, but I have no experience with them. If you like smaller heads, I can't recommend the TS3 enough.

I am also a high handicapper, weird how smaller heads work better for us.

The TS4s are outstanding. I built a 6 iron demo. It feels different than my TS1 6 iron, but is every bit as easy to hit.

"Smaller" club heads will many times have a lower AVCOG (sweet-spot), which has the most influence in making an iron easier to hit for many players.  The TS3 is one of the lowest you will find at .691"

This is probably the wrong forum but most of you guys are most knowledgeable in club building and fitting.

HERE'S MY QUESTION:

I have a 2021 TM M4 9.5 turned to 10.5* with Atmos 55gm S.  My SS varies between 91-92 and 95 depending upon my knees on any given day.  I carry 220-235 again, on any given day depending upon how knees feel

On Thursday had my best driving day - straight to slight fade carrying 225-235 with some drives getting a total distance of 255+.  Had my worst day (Sunday) with drives carrying 210-225 with a push slice and spent the day in 2-3 inch very thick rough.

Went to hitting my Maltby Tour TC 4W with MPF Pro R flex shaft 200-220 straight down middle.

I want to get a Callaway Rogue ST Max driver off Callaway Preowned (Best club I hit in fitting but M4 was $250 cheaper.)  I think I want to go to R flex shaft but the shaft choices run from a Project X Cypher Black 40 gram to a Cypher Black 50 gram.

My main issues are not getting the clubhead to close into impact and/or dragging my hands through leaving the clubhead open relative to the path.

Would the 40 gm help/hurt or should a heavier shaft be used.?  ANY SUGGESTIONS, PLEASE

Signed.......Dazed and Confused.

Edit: One of my playing partners was having trouble with his driver.  He has a 12* 3 wood and was knocking that club as far as his driver but straight.  Would going to a strong lofted 12*-13* 3 wood be more consistent than the driver with only giving up minimal distance and ditch the driver out of the bag considering how well I hit the 4W off the tee?

Dude, I will recommend that you work on technique and you should be able to hit any shaft. I started watching Stuart Cartwright on YouTube and he transformed my swing in 3 days. I went from a bowed left risk to an open face backswing by pushing down with left hand and pulling with right, swinging the golf club naturally, in balance for the first time in my life. 5 years ago my first lesson and I was told to bow left risk, I have never tried it the old way and man, for the first time I feel like a complete golfer! He has a great video on helping with a slice!

I would source the 12° version if I were you. The 40g shaft will give you the most speed and generally speaking the heavier version would give you some consistency. But there are a lot of variables that can only be found out through range time.  If you can handle the 40g, that would benefit you the most in the hunt for

If you hit the 12 too high its easy enough to turn down to 11°. This driver should fit well with your 4 wood.

I would also purchase an MPF Pro R flex shaft that matches the 4 wood for your new driver. It's cheap enough and you already like it's results. Cheap experiment.

Nobody here knows what you are doing wrong or right, but there are some general thoughts for consideration and experimentation.

As for the good day/bad day driving this is what happens to me. If I let my ball position creep to the middle, or I drift my weight even a little bit forward at impact, I can't finish the swing comfortably and the club face stays a bit open. If I don't remember to stay behind the ball at impact, it is a mess. If I want smash the ball, I usually go with it and off to the right it goes.  Funny how course designers know this and like to have trouble on the right side on short par 4's or 5's.

Drivers are interesting clubs to get right as for a build to fit you. It is very easy to throw a swing weight into a problem area by not matching components carefully. Driver swing weights that creep into the E range become harder to close at impact for us non-Marvel movie superheroes.  You will need to balance your build properly. There are swing weight calculators on line where you can input your build and see if everyone will play nice together.

I Likely do the same thing with the weight!  LOL, the course designers definitely do that!  LOL

@wantacigar be careful with the superlight shaft options. I've found that it's hard to find anything 50g or lighter with the right profile for your numbers. (I'm currently a bit longer than you at 260+ total for a solid drive, but close enough). I've had professional fittings in the past, but this year just bought a bunch of shafts and heads and started experimenting. I tried a number of 50 and 40 g shafts, at different lengths, but just could not find something that really worked, and settled on 60g.

What are you playing now? I have an 5-7 IM / 8-P TS4 combo in play with a 110g shaft and it’s great. The TS4 is not hard to hit, the IM is a little better at retaining ball speed across a wider area. Both are mid-sized heads. They play really well together. Do not notice a big difference except the IM has a little bit larger profile. I have not yet hit the TS3.

FYI for those ordering from Golfworks, keep in mind that they no longer partially ship your order for back ordered items.  I put in a large order last week (5-GW TS1-IM, KE4 Tour Hybrid and KE4 Max Driver) and noticed my order said "Partially Shipped".  I called and the hybrid is on back order and when I asked about shipping what was in stock and then shipping backordered items they said they no longer do that since the new system change earlier this year.  Luckily I was able to cancel the hybrid and the rest should ship today or tomorrow, in time for the weekend.

Unfortunately there was no email or notification about the backordered item.

Thanks for the reply.  Playing the TS3s in Aerotech SF i95s.  I'm thinking an IM/TS4 combo might be the best option for me, with a heavier shaft.  Get the benefits of the slightly larger head in the longer irons.

Did you have to tweak the lofts to get proper gapping?

I had the same experience. Super bleepin' frustrating that you basically have to watch your order daily to make sure there's not a hold up that they're not going to notify you of.

I'm placing a big order this Friday with stuff for me, my dad, my sister, and a couple guys at work so we can split shipping. Fingers crossed that nothing is out of stock.

Went out with my brand new (used) DBM set today. They’re bent too flat for me and probably need to be extended, but they’re beautiful clubs and seem to do exactly what I need when struck reasonably well. It’s also my first foray back into steel shafts after playing graphite for a while, so there’s a lot of adjusting to do. But when I got the tempo right today the ball flew, spun, and gapped exactly they way I hoped. My set included the now-discontinued 3i, and I’m not set on keeping it. If anyone is interested in buying it off me, go ahead and send a DM.

I seen the new irons in person at the pro shop and they look great.  Maybe the best looking irons I’ve seen all year.  I’ve been gaming the zx7 mkII and honestly the maltby irons look better overall.

The thing that I really love is the simplicity of their forged heads. The entire TS series can hold their own sitting on the rack next to Titleist T100, Ping Blueprint, and TM P770. And I'll bet that they feel as good or better than all of them.

I just built up a TS3 6i and it feels just as good as my P770.  Not apples to apples as I did use Nippon Modus 115 instead of DG105.

The best was still my old Callaway Apex Pro Forged 16, but I think the difference is the Recoil 110 graphite shaft which I really like and may use again.  Looking forward to building up a TS1 IM next; I may use the Rapid Taper 105 with that.

Well, it looks like my swing speed + high handicap ballstriking abilities have left the KE4 TC 5 wood (18°) and 21° HyWay only gapping about 7 yards. The HyWay and 5 hybrid are gapping 13 yards, so I'm going to keep the HyWay. I need to find something that gaps between my 11.5° driver and the 21° HyWay. I might try the 16° KE4 4 wood and hope that it's as easy to hit as the 5 wood.

It was for me.  I started with the 5w and really liked it, but it wasn't quite enough to always give me a really good look on a couple of our dogleg holes.  The 4w was the ticket for me.  It even beat out a Callaway 4w with same exact shaft and build.

The 4W is great.  Unfortunately the 21* HyWay is making it's way out of my bag.  I bought a 26* Cleveland DST 5i that is only about 5 - 10 yards shorter but the Cleveland is automatic.  I don't even think about it.  I swing, It goes 165-175 carry.  It kicked out my 5i and HyWay.  I paid $39 for it. LOL.

That’s for sure. Visually they look outstanding. Just as good as anything. Not to mention the difference in price. For the heck of it, I built out a set of T150s on the Titleist website to see how much they would be with comparable shafts. Came out to be $980 more than a set of IMs or TS4s. There is no way the T150s have a $1,000 more in performance.

I'd take it further and say there would likely be $0 difference in performance.  Most of us could take any of those equivalently spec'd iron sets and perform the same after a small adjustment period.
