I have trouble hitting anything lighter than an NV75 (78g raw), regardless of length.

I've managed to score a few NV85's that will be pressed into service soon...

The best shaft ever designed for woods.

It's funny I've had a friend who has been playing the TM P770's for a couple years. He's a great golfer so he deserves whatever clubs he wants to play. At the time he got his clubs, I was gaming the OG TS1's. I tried to insert ideas about giving the TS1's/Maltby a try. I had even done a pretty thorough dry ball comparison of the 2 and the TS1's handedly won in all categories. He wouldn't have it and went with the TM's.

Now he's in the market for TM P7MC's. I'm telling him he needs to get over the brand name and give the TS4's a serious look. I'll even build him a demo for the cost of a head. Hell I'll let him borrow my set for a round or 2. All I get is radio silence on that subject. He'll probably end up dropping $2k when all the fitting and shaft upgrades are done. He could have saved a boatload that could pay for his golf for the rest of the year and ended up with something possibly better in the TS4.

Golf constantly reminds me of a lesson learned in a college marketing class. Turtlewax introduced a new polymer wax that all the advantages possible for a product. Lower cost, superior performance, easier to use it should have been a runaway success but it languished on the shelves until it was recalled. Some months later it was reintroduced with new packaging and at a much higher price. It jumped off the shelf. Golf equipment has the same market mindset.

@Popeye64 after trying out the PTM's again are you still gaming the TS1 IM? Or did they go back to the shelf?

The irons I game can be a revolving door. The PTMs are hanging around for now. The three sets in rotation are the KE4 Max, less and less. TS1-IM and the PTM are a true toss up. Both have their serious merits and its very difficult to choose. I am liking the PTMs drop in flex with the hard stepped R flex 105g shaft.

My driver swing is a hot mess and my scores swing from 72 to 82 with nothing in-between. All depends on if I can hit the driver that day. Any of those sets of irons can score extremely well.

Thanks for the response. After my surgery in mid October (once healed of course) I plan on getting the MPF shafts to put my MAX and STi2 7 irons in. As well as ordering a TS1 IM 7 iron (now that I know you can still get a test club from a PAK) and test those out. By then I will be forced to find somewhere indoors for that but hopefully I will be ready for spring with a new line up 😉

wonder what the changes will be...just decided to build my dbm heads again..while waiting for the damn delay in getting my new t150 irons...I know the dbm will be much softer feeling than the 150s coming.

Go to page 157 in this thread.  There is a full description and pictures

For a set of irons, is the custom build price online the price you are going to pay or can you call and get a discounted pak price with shafts different than the Score?

When I asked about modifying a Pak, they said it would have to be the full custom price instead of the the Pak discount + cost differential for whatever you're changing. But maybe it depends on who you talk to as I've heard others report differently.

I have a friend who just purchased a set of Maltby TS3 irons. He was told the DBM Forged iron will be discontinued. He initially wanted to get the DBMs.

They are introducing a new DBM, more up to date lofts and other slight changes to the sole.

I think they'll only switch out if the shaft you want is available in another pak. Ive swapped from the Kuro to Maltby MPF shafts before and they've let me do it but the MPF is widely available in multiple paks.

Well, got the big ol' order my coworkers and I placed from Golfworks. I got the MPF Pro DR shaft in R flex to experiment with and it's shockingly stiff. I have the MPF Pro shaft in R flex in my 3 wood and HyWay, but I guess I never really noticed how stiff they are. Compared to the Ventus Red and Blue shafts I have that are in S flex, I would say the MPF Pro is a bit stiffer than even those.

Another happy Maltby customer! Met up with my boss this morning to deliver his STi2 irons, TSW wedges, and M890 hybrid. He really liked all of them! I had a chance to hit the STi2 and I think they're excellent for what they are. I seriously doubt there are higher quality clubs available for $180.99, much less built to your length/flex spec. They obviously don't feel buttery like the TS3's do, and they don't have the launch off the face feeling of the KE4 Max, but I wouldn't think I was hindered if I had to play them. Really solid clubs.

I actually like the all around feel of the STi2 better than the MAX. The difference for me on distance is loft, but since I would be aware of that it would be a non-issue. In my mind I think I want to enjoy the MAX more, but my experience with the 7 irons has had different results. It comes down to the individual. As @Popeye64 would say YMMV 😁

Probably not.  The KE4 Tour+ is also extremely forgiving towards the toe.  Both have a COG that is located slightly toe side of center, which is unique in iron design

After about a half dozen rounds and more than that range sessions on my KE4 Tour+ irons I can vouch for this.
