Are the TS3.5 still expected in June. I think it’s time to move on from my HMP. The shaft is probably a bigger problem than the heads but I am not really interested in dealing with swapping out the shafts. The STi2 gen2 look amazing but The TS3.5 sound like the perfect balance for me. Really like the TS3 but found it spun a little too much.

The new catalog says "Coming Summer 2025" for the TS3.5

If you are comparing the Maxfli price to a Maltby PAK price, then there is a huge difference.  Have you priced in the custom shop what a set of TS3's would be with the same stock shafts that are offered by Maxfli ?

If I remember correctly, it is only a few hundred difference when you compare like for like as far as shafts/grips.

It’s $751 with TS4 with aero tech 110 shafts 5-PW. It was 1200 for the XC2

Don't walk, run if that's a thought.  Is there even a trade in option on the Maltby's🤔....Maxfli's likely that could be an option back at DSG/GG?

Maybe used sets will start to pop up in the coming weeks/months and would be more palatable!

Here's what I've gone to now: I'm on at least the 4th set of shafts with my TS3's, trying to get the right weight, and I look for pulls that I can soft-step 2x to get the length right and drop the flex a bit.  Here's my current theory... I just installed some Nippon 950gh shafts that after soft-stepping 2x, play 1/4" long, which is great for a little extra swing weight.  Everyone says that the 950's play a little soft to flex, BUT everyone on here says that shafts feel a little stiffer in the TS line due to extra butt length, although soft-stepping twice should make them more like a SR flex that Nippon also uses.  Hopefully it all evens out to play an R+, which is what I really wanted in the first place 🙂

I might give them another shot down the line. But I just got a set of ptm heads and I have a set recoil 110 f4 shaft pulls that I can soft step. Length is perfect as I’ve dry fit them all tonight. Here’s hoping.

Update on the TE+ and DRT build. All around this set might be my favorite to date. Profile, turf interaction, and playability are very similar to the TS4, but forgiveness is just as good as the TS3 IMO. Feel is right in between the 2 which is absolutely perfect for me. They feel very soft but feedback is exceptional. I think I might actually prefer the feel of these over the TS3 as it's not quite as muted due to being just a slightly slimmer profile, but actually feel more powerful off the face.

I actually had the lofts adjusted 2° weaker due to being a little too hot for my wedge gapping. Every club was nearly a whole club longer than the TS3 for some strange reason. Maybe I'm just hitting these better? 🤷‍♂️. So yeah I went a little old school on the lofts but still getting 135 yds from the PW with a comfortable 10-12 yd gap between clubs. I'm very happy with the outcome!

Also, I decided to spruce things up a little bit with some matching paint fill..

From time to time I look for a set of recoil 110 pulls, I think that could be a great shaft for me when I finally go all graphite. Or I might go back to the rapid tapers… too many good choices!

Update on the DRT DBM 52 and 56 A... have truly been incredible.  I have 3 rounds on them. Each round has them ever improving.

I would say these are just as easy to hit as the Max Milled but seem more precise. The sole is fantastic, it's very confidence inspiring. Im so smitten I'm getting the DRT DBM 48 G to add into my set.

I have quickly gotten into a strategy of getting to 100 -105 yards. The 52A is automatic.  Some people have thought that the DRT DBM was on the too firm side. Not for me. Yes it's leans to the firm side  but not at all harsh. Plus I love the tell tale ball mark left on the face.

Im sure the chrome versions are softer but I've always been a slave to the DBM finish. I'm not sure what the ceramic center does or doesn't do but the heads are excellent performers. It's performs like the TSW without the punishing sole that can dig in.

To sum it up, I think the DRT line will be an all time best seller. Maybe even a legacy wedge design.

I must have missed it, but what shafts are you using in these?

So it looks like if you stick with DG Mid 115 or 100 steel shafts. the price per club is 142.88, any other option is a full shaft upcharge per club.  That comes out to the 1200 with the 110 aerotech.    It is similar to other highend golf set pricing.  For example the Ping i-530 with aerotech 110 shafts 5-P will cost 1364.40 at TGW.

Honestly, if you find that club head/shaft combo that perfectly fits your swing I still think its a decent price.  But, if you cycle through stuff every two years like me, then, yes it gets expensive.

Really, any custom club set built on a new model is excessively more than it should be.

Correct.  But the XC2 are only $80 less than the same set up with P790 comps.

Yeah I slapped 3g on both the 5 and 6. They came in at D0 which isn't terrible and I know 1.5 SW's isn't enough to feel much difference but I'm just experimenting at the moment. If I notice any difference I'll replace the lead tape with something more discreet. I doubt I'll notice anything major.

I use lead tape... makes me feel better.  LOL--   Seriously though-- I do like the SW to be correct regardless of the evidence that it may not really matter as much as originally believed.    I think lead tape on irons shows a level of "PLAYER"  .

Yeah I consider myself somewhere SW sensitive, which I know can be a debatable topic.. but when you have as much crap bouncing around in your head like I do, even that piece of mind can often resolve the "what if's" in my psyche. Kind of like knowing that the puzzle is finished and I can move on. I probably have a little bit of Christian Wolff (obscure movie reference) in me that I can't ignore most of the time.

The swing weight scale is still a valid and useful way to measure, when using the same shaft through an iron/wedge set....and a slight progressive swing weight is nice middle ground that fits a lot of players.

It becomes a lot more convoluted when trying to compare or "match" swing weights between clubs with different shafts

Ah, today my DRT-G 48 and DRT-A 54 are my new friends. The 48 that I complained about last week felt good and the 54 really does the job from our bunkers.

What did it, I'm sure, is that I took the black paint off around the Maltby "M" on the back. 😉

And, three more weeks down the road, I am pleased to report that the DRT 48 and 54 are working just fine. 😀

Finally received the KE4 Tour TC 5 wood with new MPF Pro Series shaft I ordered 2.5 weeks ago.  It's been said a million times, but the KE4 TC head is such a good looking head at address.  And the new MPF shafts looks so good and understated.  Have always struggled with fairway woods, hope I can make this one work.

I recently ordered a KE4 Tour TC 9 wood pak with the new MPF Pro Series shaft to try out. To me the  9 wood looks a little closed but it is suppose to be .5* open. Was able to hit it yesterday and was pulling it a lot, will need some range time to figure it out.

Popeye,

What is the size of the DRT's relative to the TSW's ?

I love my TSW 52 & 56 wedges, although like most know the 52 is punishing if you get too steep.

Hey guys, I've been taking a DRT 56°A through it's paces for the last couple weeks. Really liking the club, definitely in the running to earn a spot in the "A" bag.

However,  I'll need the 58° for it intended purpose.

One issue I'm seeing in the 56 is outlined in the pic, a little wiggle in the topline/fan area is showing, where the back weighting contours are showing very subtlety at address.

My question is does this also appear in the 58°A ?
