How does the profile/face height compare to the 775hs?

I haven’t played the 775s in many years. I wasn’t a fan of it because the face was too deep and it didn’t’ have very forgiving sole for my steep swing.   I haven’t hit the KE4 yet but the face height seems much better.   Not too shallow where I don’t feel comfortable off the tee or deep rough but shallow enough to hit off of tighter lies.  My first time in a 5H as higher lofted hybrids looked weird but the KE4 looks really good at address.

Curious if anyone has played the ts1 in a 3i as an alternative to a utility iron?

I've been playing a Honma TW-X 3 iron as a utility iron for the last 3 years. You can still find them new on Ebay for <$50, and they are incredible.

Nice first round with the new combo set, they feel great! I struck them well and my one toe strike still ended up front fringe. Lots of great shots once I got the blocks worked out of my rusty swing.  Playing partner asked what they were, said they look great and was surprised at the low price I quoted.

Probably asked this before on this thread. Loving the TS4 in a 4-G set with PX L5 5.5 shafts. But as others have mentioned the TS4s require a committed speedier swing especially with the longer  irons. Love the fact that the TS4 PW is closer to 46 than 42 like other manufacturers.

However,  need more help and thinking of either the TE+ and the TS1M in the 4/5/6 irons. Also switching to graphite Recoil 95s to avoid aches and pains off mats.

Any thoughts on which is better - the TE+ or the TS1M for a blended set?

also, looking to combo the ts4 with either the ts3 or Te+. Reviews seem mixed as to which one is better. Interested to hear some opinions either way?

I play TS1's. In NO way would I consider the 3i. They are too small and certainly not anywhere near the category of a "utility iron."

In case anyone wanted to see the PTM.  It’s hard to tell he quality of the paint and milling online but in person 🔥.  Putting on my putting green the feel is so good!

The only thing I wish is that they left the face clean.  Not a fan of the white shuriken so I can see myself possibly removing the white and leaving naked.  Golfworks, since it seems like you’ve listened to our feedback for the current irons, the next milled set of putters minimize the lettering/emblems.

Love the looks of that. And yes the white ninja thing needs to be darkened.

My old PTM5 with an offset neck made it back into my bag. But I really need to make up the CS version.

I have the TE+ 4&5 irons, and I don't think they are any easier to hit than the TS4. The only "help" the TE+ gives you is a slightly lower (~1/16") CG. They are both 1 piece forgings, and look nearly identical at address.

There's a good chance I'll be swapping them out for all TS4's.

I'd also disagree that you need more speed to play the TS4. You just need to get closer to the center.

I've never hit the TS1, so can't compare.

Ive been gaming the TS1 for sometime.

Before that TE Forged (which honestly its one of the best irons I have played)

TS1 were ok, so I thought jumping into the TS4 or TE+

but picked up new heads when golfworks were unloading the TE forged for a great price

just cant get away from this classic design its really timeless

So will be running a combo set 6-P TE forged 4-5 TS1

I have a question for those who have hit the STi2. Is there a noticeable difference between the 8-GW from the irons with the gel fill?

I had been planning to do a DBM iced set of OG DBM 6,7,8 and then TS4 DBM 9,P,G. I was thinking this as I already have the 6,7,8 heads. The I thought I would put together a set with 5° gaps go TS3 DBM 7,8 and TS4 9,P,G. Now I'm thinking of 7,8,9 OG DBM and then DRT G or S friend 52° and a DRT 58° A grind. In the end I'll probably die in 20yrs with the unused OG DBM heads being tossed out by my kids.

I still have a G/9/7/5 set of OG DBMs that I built for a short set years ago, I think I'm going to give them to the local First Tee.

The TS4s and TE+ are fantastic and make a great blended set, either would make a great set on its own and likely just about as forgiving as the other.  I came into this looking at the TS3s and would still consider trying them out.  Honstly all these heads seem to be so good, and I think they look so much better than any of the other DTC brands (Sub 70, etc)

Want to expand a bit of the KE4 Pro IST. Specifically on the 6. There is a huge stigma about switching to Hybrids. Kind of like playing Ultra Game Improvement designs.

But to be honest the quality of strikes from the IST is something that can't be overlooked. From a tee, fairway or questionable rough. It just shines. There actually is no comparison what so ever.

Call me old, getting old, whatever. But you can't overlook accuracy and stopping power.

Had a set of the TE 4-GW in my cart for a month.  When I was finally ready for them, I checked back and they were sold out.  $199 is a real tough deal to pass up.

I just built mine with the Rapport blue core hybrid shaft (too impatient to wait on the back-ordered Maltby hybrid shafts) and it's pretty easy to hit.  I was looking to fill the 160-165ish yard gap and it appears to be the answer.  I hit my 7 iron up to 155 and my 5hy is going 175ish.  This is my first run with Rapport shafts, one in this and one in the Cleveland Hy-wood, and so far happy with them after two rounds.  They do feel pretty soft, like maybe I should have tipped them a touch more than the recommended amount for the 70R shafts.

Couple of things I’m working on. With the help of @Popeye64 who is a GREAT resource and we’re lucky to have him on this thread.
Im waiting on some TS1 heads and a good try with an ISO driver. I’m in Canada and the Maltby website is way behind in our country.
I can’t get used to the top lines on the ts2, hence the ts1. I also switching to a lighter shaft for my KE4 TC. I’m hitting this club well with the Maltby pro shaft but I think the UL will help a lot a longer days of golf.   I play Nippon regular so it’s a lot of reshafting and gluing etc.

I continue to repair and adjust clubs for the local golf course. Many broken driver shafts this season and a few irons. I have replaced broken shafts with the Maltby Pro driver series and it’s well liked. One project involved a connect-X system that was broken. Long process.

Im more traditionalist when it comes to Maltby models. The disadvantage is the lower lofting especially in the 4,5, and 6 irons. I need a little distance that the newer heads provide. Thanks @Popeye64

I have the TE. Nice club. I’ve wondered about it as well. My thinking is updated aesthetics and stronger lofts. Great design that I hope is available for a long time.

I have the 2022 version Cleveland Hywood (18*) and the new Cleveland Halo XL 4h and finally an old Cleveland DST 5h 26* circa 2012-2013 with a Diamana R shaft.  I love my Cleveland hybrids.  Really only hybrids I hit well with any level of consistency.  Got my 1st H.I-1 after 40 years of playing golf with the Hywood last year.  Needless to say I'm a Cleveland hybrid fanboy.  I hit the 5h fairly well and like the performance I get with it.  I'm looking to replace it but don't want to spend $200+ to get the new Halo.  How would you compare the Pro IST hybrids to the Cleveland?  If they're close, I'm going for the Maltby.

I am playing the KE4 Max and quite frankly if I take them out of the bag I'd be nuts.

The Max 7i is 30°. The IST 6 is 29°. I carry the 7i 155-162. But can easily step that up. The 6h is 165-170. So it naturally  fit right in.

There are so many intangibles with the 6h. I made crazy shots with that club all week. Tee box, rough, sidehill-uphill lie. The very last shot of the week to save par and keep a 78 or better score going for the week, was a fairway bunker on 18. Lip on the bunker, ,playing 185 uphill. Any one who knows me would bet I'd leave that in the bunker lip. I hate fairway bunkers. I took a rip with the 6h to 20' from the flag. No way I'm making that shot with a 6i... no way!.

I know you posted a pic of the hybrid, but do you have another hybrid to compare it to pic wise?it looked huge almost FW like.

You are, once again, conflicting my plan!  LOL    I have a "flighted" set of RT waiting for my next Maltby selection.     I have the #4 IST.. It is truly a great club...    I may go with the new TS-3.5  in #7-GW--

How would the #4- #6 IST   Gap?
