Definitely appreciate all the feedback and information. I went ahead and ordered TS4 8-P and a TS1-IM 5 iron, all with Modus 120 shafts. I’ll fill in the 6 and 7 irons with one of the two based on how it goes. If I don’t like the IM I’ll swap in the TS3 5 iron head.

I estimated my TS3 swingweights by carefully measuring the balance point distance (from grip end), subtracting 14 inches, then multiplied the distance by total weight (grams).  I came up with the following values.  Is this pretty consistent club-to-club?  Was aiming for D0 to D1 based on preassembled estimates.  Any recommendations?

5 iron = 6130 (~D1.5)

6 iron = 6090 (~D0.8)

7 iron = 6097 (~D1.0)

8 iron = 6108 (~D1.2)

9 iron = 6170 (~D2.3)

(I intentionally made the 9 iron a tad heavier by adding a tip weight since my Vokeys are pretty heavy.)

You were doing great till the 5 iron. But that's not actually measured values. It's estimates. So I would try to get the real values. But bottom line if they are working for you let them rock.

The 5 iron uncut shaft did measure heavy, so I was kind of stuck there.  I have used the 5 iron the most and love it.  So if other clubs feel a bit off I can start toying with lead tape.

Edit- any way to drop the swingweight of the 5i?  Drill out a bit of weight from head?

Just did the same estimates on my DBMs, pretty similar results.  I guess you can only do so good using preassembled weights and online estimators (assuming below estimates are fairly good).  Maybe I just need to buy a swingweight device, haha...

5 iron = 6112 (D1.2)
6 iron = 6099 (D1)
7 iron = 6147 (D2)
8 iron = 6129 (D1.5)
9 iron = 6173 (D2.5)

I'm thinking about building a set of KE4 Tour+'s.

I agree with CWebb, I’ve tried numerous other clubs since I bought a set of the Tour+ and they just flat out work better than the others. Currently my set has the Apollo Spectre Lite shafts S flex with Winn DriTec grips. I put at DGSL X100 8 iron shaft in the GW and it is a real weapon. The high MOI design really works, my usual miss is towards the toe and I’m frequently amazed at the results I get from poor contact.

I played Wilson and Ram US forged clubs most of my life and honestly don’t see much difference in feel with these clubs.

Currently playing the original TS1 heads for the last 3 years. I have them shafted with a set of PX rifle 6.0s. I love them. I play and practice very often. After a few years the heads are starting to show their wear.

Was wondering what anyone thought about replacing them with one of the newer offerings. I can struggle with the 5 iron at times, but lately have been hitting it well.

Should I just go for a 1:1 and buy a new set of TS1’s? Will I see any difference in the PW and GW if I go TS1-IM? Or should I change it up entirely and go with the TS3? Would it even be worth holding out for the TE+? I tested the DBMs and did not get along with the sole. But the TE+ looks to have gone the way of radius sole. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

To feel confident with any other direction, you really should buy at least one club to test first, before getting a whole set

A little love for the M890 10° driver.

I've been struggling out of the tee box and in another fitting had a KE4 Tour Max and the M890. Customer went with the Tour Max in the end, which he loves, but after he left I started to hit the M890. Sure it may give up a little distance to my Stealth 2 rocket..  but wow is it consistent. Plus I can swing away with confidence. That alone is helping me keep the ball in the short grass. It's a truly forgiving design so even my miss swing stays well in play. Plus it has a great crushed it feel and sound when hit. I've sold a bunch of M890s to older golfers or beginners.

We always want the sexy new model but sometimes the old KISS club design works pretty darn well.

So had a new customer meet me at the range. Wanted a new set of irons. I brought along a built set of TS3s and a built set of TS-1. Had some demo TS1M and a TS4. He wanted a blade style club....

Long story short he struggled making solid contact but did well with the TS3. Hit the TS4 well towards the end which was kind of surprising given his start. He wanted a set right away and walked to his car with the TS3 set. It's always a good idea to have a set someone can take home right away. Though he was sold on having a custom built set. He left with something tangible.

Back in the day thats how I sold dozens of CT250 drivers. I always had 3 or 4 in the truck.

So if you want to build your business or not miss out on sales, a set ready to go certainly helps.

They should have kept the CT250 driver design available as a "legacy model", just like they've done with the TE irons that were previously the MTF and MO5

I've had a ton of time with all the new designs and day in and daybout the TS1-IM keeps rising to the top for me. I continue to gravitate strongly to the high VCOG designs. If anything could have a chance of kicking out the KE4 Max irons it may be the TS1-IM.

I'll be building myself a set and see what happens.

I've been moving a lot of my built-tinkering sets lately so it's time for another set.

Any noticeable difference in height between the three new models?

Also curious on how you would rank turf interaction between the three.

Your swing speed is high enough that playing an iron with a bit higher CG is beneficial to prevent ballooning shots. It also helps that you probably play in more lush conditions than super firm making it easier to drive the higher CG under the ball midpoint.

The TS1-IM flew the lowest but not by a huge margin. I had to look at the data to tell. But what I could see was the TS1-IM had the best 'looking' flight of the three. They spin less but just look different in flight. It may be more of a byproduct of my digger swing/ high VCOG. Hitting the three with an audience most marveled at how the TS1-IM performs.

The TS3 is a bigger design departure of the other two. The wide sole and relieved edges do a great job getting through turf. But the extreme low VCOG seemed to get into my head. Disclaimer... the TS3 GW has become an all time favorite club. If I didn't have such an early struggle with the first TS3 build I did, I may not have the neg mindset over the design, one I just couldn't shake.

The TS4 and the TS1-IM have subtle sole differences that make a big impact. The TS4 has a more pronouced leading edge. Again these differences are subtle but there.  It then is radiused back to the aft edge with out having a real rocker style sole.  The TS1-IM has by comparison a relieved leading edge with more rocker front to back. The TS4 flirts with the pure blade designs about as much as possible while still being shockingly friendly. The TS4 can get a bit grabby in sketchy range grass.

The TS1-IM also has the narrowest sole yet gets through so so well.

So to me the overall experience with the TS1-IM has the best time in the turf.

Choosing one design over the other has become increasingly difficult. Handing the clubs to 3 differences people, gets three different choices.

A TS4 - TS3 mixed set will probably continue to be more popular. The emerging TE+ is only going to make choices even tougher.

Pics are of the TS4 and TS1-IM. Visually the TS3 is much larger.

Ended up doing an estimate of the swingweight on my KE4 TC 4 wood, which I've only hit a handful of times with zero success or feel.

Turns out it's around C7.8 (golfworks built it).  I added 5g lead tape and can already feel the head better.  If it works out tomorrow on the course I'll be ordering the 12g and 14g weights to try out.

Popeye going off what you said about the TS1 IMs sole, would you say it is close to the sole of the PTMs?

I will send a picture later of the PTM sole vs the TS1-IM. The PTM have an exaggerated relieved leading edge. Bigger than nearly any iron I've ever seen. But they worked so well. I'll post up later.

I still have a CT250 driver with the CT250 shaft made by Aerotech.  That was a great combo.  Actually, I have the 3, 5 and 7 woods too.😁

That was a GREAT combo.  Way ahead of it's time.  The Aerotech shaft was a winner.   I agree that the CT 250 would be a great club to see around.
