I would say it's certainly worth buying a single head to give them a try. The COG of the two heads is fairly close. With my swing I seem to grativtae to the higher COG irons. So for me they were a natural fit.

They did, originally.  Just as with the TE Forged, they stopped, as it was a not a big seller.

The 5 wood is going to take some work to get dialed. It's certainly easier to get good shots with than the 15° 3 wood I was playing. I'm not hitting it well enough to get a gap from the 21° HyWay, but I'm pretty certain that I'll see a 10-15 yard gap once I get more dialed in with it. I did hit it off the tee a couple times and I got one dead on the screws that had distance/height that rivalled my driver. So I know it's capable, just gotta get me there. 

 

Both clubs feel solid to hit, sound isn't too tinny. No complaints about look at address, though they are a bit pedestrian. Also, going with the R flex MPF Pro shaft was the right move. All in all, I'm quite happy with the club changes. 

If I could ask: What shaft length did you go with on your 21 degree HyWay? The 21 degree HyWay seems to be a fusion of a 7W and 3H which can be about 1.5” different in length. Just curious what the thinking is on length for these types of clubs.

I know that this gets said a lot but the TS1 irons keep impressing me! I went to the range over lunch today and there was a hard wind coming straight at me. I worked to keep the ball down and was hitting piercing bullets with my seven and four irons! Hit four straight four irons that landed within a few yards of the 200yard flag. Seriously impressive irons, hats off and Britt and everyone else at Maltby!

Another weight loser/dicey swing haver checking in. Hoping that everything will be settled within the next couple of weeks, but I do feel I need to swing a little harder now that I'm lighter. And timing is still a bit off. On the other hand, I have more room to move!

I'd like to blame my continuing weight gain for my worsening swing, but the truth is I have swung badly between 160 to 205 lbs so it's probably not my static weight that's the issue 🙁  Still need to eat better and move more or though or a bad golf swing will be the least of my worries.

 

TS3 head has shipped and should arrive this weekend!  Debating on different shafts I have laying around to try:  Modus 3 115, Recoil 110, RT 105 are my initial thoughts, but I have some other pullouts laying around.

Losing weight can screw with your weight shift. If you are finding that you need to swing harder, make sure that you are getting your weight onto your lead foot before impact. I've always found that when I'm not getting my weight forward it really effects my distances and swing path.

Thinking ahead....if anyone thinks they might want one of latest 3 irons that are currently available in the TS4 and TS1-im, I wouldn't wait too long, as they could very well be discontinued at any point in the future

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned yet, the TS2 and TS1 heads have been moved to the deals section with a 20% ($10) price reduction.

 

I already have the 5 and 6 TS2 heads so I'm going to get the 7, 8 ,9 now that they are on sale.  I don't need them and I'm not sure what I'll do with them except to wait for a graphite shaft I get along with to go on sale.

I have the Scores in a set of Gigagolf C510s and like them a lot. They feel very close to teh FST 115s in my opinion.

Does anyone have any experience with the Gen 4 PXG 0811 Drivers and know how they compare to the Maltby offerings? I only ask since they have been around that $199 range so in that same price range as the Maltby paks. My brother in law has an 0211 that he has been liking (got a killer deal on it last winter for $99). I have a Taylormade R5 and have been thinking about a Maltby driver since I am making changes to my clubs. But with the price of this PXG I am considering this as well. I have watched a few vidoes on them, but if any of you have experience with them and know how they compare to the Maltby's I would love to hear about it. Thank you in advance for any responses.

This question from the Maltby forum sort of addresses why there are no MPFs for driver heads.  Kind of blows up all the claims too.

It is cut to 41.5"; I believe it has a woods shaft in it, so that would make sense. 

 

Interestingly, I'm far more accurate at finding the sweet spot with the 41.5" HyWay than I was with the 40" 3 hybrid it replaced.

Please excuse the double post, but I was able to take the 21° HyWay and 18° TC 5 wood out to the range again this morning. I've been dealing with a sprain in my left knee, which has made getting full rotation in the golf swing somewhat limited. The joys of being an obese golfer also on the weight loss train. 

 

Despite said setbacks, it's become apparent that my "okay, but not great" shots are as good as most of my best shots with the previous 3 wood/3 hybrid I was using. I would highly recommend the HyWay to anyone that's looking for a club that's just silly easy to get high shots and soft landings with.

Why would they be discontinued this fast? I just bought a TS1-IM 7 iron that hopefully I get to test soon. Definitely passes the eye test but I need to see how it performs head to head with my i230.

Not this fast, but planning ahead for a season or two.  Who knows

It's good advice.

 

I've had regrets not buying a head or shaft in the past because sometimes they go to sold out status quickly and without warning.  In fact it's why I just purchased the 7, 8, and 9 TS2 heads to go with the 5 and 6 I already have.  Once something goes into the "deals" section it's probably not getting another production run.  I wish I would of acted on the Catalyst 80g graphite iron shafts when they were available.

Good advice. For anyone looking at the TS4 and TS1-IM, I wouldn't worry too much. I think the TS1 have been out since early to mid-2018.

It's the original TS1 that is being clearanced out, not the TS1-IM.

I have lurked and followed and relied on this thread for some time now.

 

It helped convince me to acquire and game the TS3 5-8 irons and TS4 9-PW, along with a lead-taped TS1 GW that is the most accurate club I have ever owned.  Loving these clubs.  When I eliminate my own aiming (weak swing finish) and topping/thin tendencies, these clubs are point and shoot accurate.  Love them.

 

I like them so much, along with Golfworks' customer service, that I just ordered my daughter an M890 combo pak for her first "real" set of clubs.  I am eager to see her hit these, and think/hope that she will see better results than she has with the old second-hand clubs she has been playing.

 

Pondering trying the TS1-IM over the winter, although I probably should just stick with and learn to hit well my current clubs.

I feel your pain. I just took on all repairs at our local club. Lots of broken shafts etc. When I find a shaft profile that fits, it’s not there. Someone wanted a new 5 wood with his original shaft, can’t get it. No 5 wood heads. The problem is not the website anymore, it’s getting stock to Canada. I’ve notified many times. Very, very unfortunate.

Went old school today and had a blast. 

I acquired a used set of PTM Blacks and finally threw them together. I went softer in flex this time and have loved the outcome. I used the RT 105 R+ hard stepped once. 

I'm hitting these high soft baby draws. Plus distance is spot on. They stop right away and feel awesome. I'm still shocked this head had such a short life span. 

Built the 7-PW just to see how they did. Right away I remembered why these clubs were an all time favorite. So easy to hit, nice high flight, great feel and sound. As a matter of fact it was always a club head that people commented on how they sounded. 

If anyone has a new set of unused PTM Blacks I would love to grab them.

Received my TS3 6i head this weekend, but didn't have time to assemble a club.  This head looks absolutely perfect to me.  In some online pics I thought the topline looked a bit thick, but not in person.  The only thing I can nitpick is that maybe the cavity back looks a bit shiny, but I really hope I like the performance because I want to see these in my bag.  FWIW I got the head and a few other things 4-5 days after I ordered them.

Yeah, it's really starting to suck. I'd love to toss together a few new things and give the TS4 a try but it's not even listed on the website yet! Don't worry though, the MMB-17 is listed and it's only been discontinued for 4-5 years. I understand a few issues when launching a new site but it's been six months, it needs to be fixed.

YEP-  Such an addictive thing.  I have had M-05, MMB, MMB-17,  MTE, MTF, TE, KE-4, KE-4 Tour, PTM, TS-1, TS-2 and NOW.... I am gaming my TS-3 in Rapid Taper.  LOVE them.    I have built for others- Toski- T-54, and T-55.   My wife plays the STI-2 with her new set.  Her original set is Circa 2002-  CER-Plus.  

 

I am headed to a set of TS-1IM...  Also will eventually own the TE-V4..     Just have to try them all!!!

Well, I guess Canadians can at least enjoy the discussions about the new heads. Amusing that in the US there can be clearance prices on TS2 and TS1 heads, and those two models are the most recent additions on the Canadian site. I can do a lot with older models, but it’s the usual supplies and sundries that one uses every day for repair. As you mentioned the MMBs are still around, and the KE forged. For anything new I may have to watch the bay!

PTMS where my favorite Maltby head

Does anyone have experience with the TS-3  4 iron.   I have the TS-3s in 5-PW, and hit the 5i well.  I'm considering putting the 4i in the bag too, but would like to hear from someone who has hit it. I have a 3 wood and a 3 hybrid and want the 4 iron to fill the gap between my 3H and the 5i.  I seem to have more directional control with irons, and would like to replace the hybrid i have that sometimes i over cook and hook.

 

I've really been enjoying the rest of my TS-3 set, and think they'll be my gamers for a long time.
