Speaking to the MCA Rep at Quickens they were having a few pros test this shaft exclusively in the TS head. He didn’t give me a name for the shaft but this could be it.

Makes sense; Titleist had the +Plus Limited Edition shafts in the 917 woods for several months before the shafts were released to aftermarket sources.

There are pics of Jason Gore hitting a Tensei Blue shaft at the JD. He’s normally a UST guy. Maybe these new shafts have MR70 and boron in them.

Okay, you guys ARE good --- that was a "slip up" by the marketing team! The long and short of it is YES i can confirm we are in the early stages of testing some next generation TENSEI Parts. As you know the TENSEI series is about using exotic materials to refine older, proven shaft designs. This new AV Series will incorporate a "tighter" woven material in the butt section, replacing the Carbon Kevlar. The tighter weave is also a thinner material and we going to be testing it in two different profiles -- a few pieces of the initial sample are on tour. This new Blue Profile will be a feature for MCA at the PGA Show in Orlando in 2019. We are excited to contine to work on additions to the very popular series --- more to come, after we get some player feedback. GREAT CATCH!

Love the continued innovation! What kind of characteristics does this process display in the shaft compared the Carbon-Kevlar weave or the Diamana line? What were you trying to accomplish with this method? Why Aluminum Vapor and not a different metal? Kind of off topic here but is there work using the material du jour, graphene, in a Tensei product? (Kind of got carried away there. This engineering talk gets me all excited. :) )
