I agree the paintfill is a little tacky, but its a fully machined flow neck mallet. I think Toulon is making one, but other than that the most popular Callaway and TM models are all made of cast material offshore. I think perhaps a raw stainless finish may have looked a little more premium, but for those of us that like the quality of a fully machined putter like a Cameron or Bettinardi but want the performance flow neck mallet, this hits the mark. Now to see if my pro can get his hands on one and what the price tag looks like. Guessing $600 range?

This is interesting to me. I had one of the new fastbacks for about a month and got rid of it bc I couldnt make anything with it. I loved the headshape though and thought a black fastback head would look great and a slant neck would be an interesting spin on it. I may try and pick one up but it would be hard to replace my current putter.

 

I still think he should do the slant neck x5 for retail!!

Saw this spec sheet on a pre-order ebay listing for this putter. states MSRP $700 at the bottom of the page... ironically, the listing price is $1100 - ha

The giant LIMITED font on the putter and the headcover just has a very heavy “cheese” factor for me.

 

I think the reverse would be much nicer. Very Small and low key.

 

 

.....Is 1500 pieces actually “limited”?? Maybe it is in the Scotty world but that’s big production for many other brands.

I don't remember Cameron releasing a mallet styled head with a one piece milled short slant neck?

 

I'm not talking about the round necks of the Circa 62 or Studio Design line...more like the Golo 3 neck but that's not really a "mallet".

 

I don't like the way welded necks look unless the weld is perfectly uniform which is very rare so a production short slant style neck would be awesome on that X5 head.

There was a Select Fastback 1.5 a few years back, it was a add on to the line half way through the 2 year cycle. Pretty sure this is the first onse since then.

I think there were 8000 Buttonbacks made, supposedly Limited and they seem to have vanished! But the 750 run My Girls are probably harder to find.

Depends which ones, the latest ones have been so boring. I have one of the newest ones in the bag at home. I'm just can't decide if I like the shape or not. I like the My Girls from about ten years ago, the recent ones, not so much.
