Tiger should just hit a ‘Lietzsche’ draw

Tiger should get back to working his driver both ways. Maybe that will get rid of his 2 way miss.

By 'both ways', you mean hitting it in the trees on the left AND the right? That IS the cause of his two way miss.

The peculiarities of golf. The block fade and rope hook pull have the same parent named stuck.

Most people who think they slice, don’t. They hit a push, or a push fade. They don’t understand that when you start the swing with the lower body, the clubface opens. Tiger’s violent swings exacerbated this. So, he had to ‘handsy’ his way out of it. Or, he had to hit it left and kill himself to hold it off. As he’s already deceased, the latter is no longer an option. It’s much easier, especially for us old dudes, to just buckle and 5yd. draw it.

Don’t forget him putting one in somebody’s backyard at the Arnold Palmer this year.

Easier on the back, blah, blah, blah. (Isn't that kind of what Jack did on the Senior Tour?)

WTF is "Lietzsche"?

I believe it was a reference to Bruce Lietzke. RIP. He recently passed, God bless he and his family.

If so, OP should be ashamed - at least get the guy's name right. But it was just another nonsense Tiger troll thread to start with.

The thing that confuses me the most here is that Tiger has been saying for years that a small draw is his natural shot shape. He still uses it of course but he seems to favor a cut more overall and seems to use it almost exclusively off the tee at times. I can't imagine what the advantages would be of so consistently going against what your supposed natural shot shape is.

I watched Tiger on the range Thursday morning and he was roping the driver. Not sure what happens when he gets on the course, but the swing is certainly different...

Simple, the range is the widest fairway in golf with no pressure on the outcome.

The swing breaks down under pressure and we've seen the evidence this year, a notable example was the OB @ the API.

He is probably referring to irons when talking about "natural shape." The modern driver is a different animal since it is made to be hit up on to get ideal launch conditions, which necessitates changing the ball position to way forward. From that position it is much easier for most to hit a cut than a draw.

The guy misspelled Lietzke - give him a break. Have the people on this site don't know the difference between Rogue and Rouge, per se and per say, etc and ect...etc..

I do agree that Tiger should just focus on a little reliable cut, but I think he wouldn't like the positions that puts him in on left to right right to left doglegs.

What is a Lietzsche draw????

Bruce LieTZKe (RIP) was not known for hitting a draw, he was maybe the best known fade hitter of professional golf.

He hit a fade all the time. He never even bothered to try to hit a draw. So, a Lietzke draw would be hitting a draw all the time and never even bothering to try to fade it. I called it a ‘Lietzsche draw’ because, number one, I don’t know how to spell his name, and two, because it would be the same simple plan, only with a draw instead of a fade. Otherwise, I just would’ve said “he should do what howeveryouspellit did.”

And yeah, it’s a shame about Lietzke dying. He seemed like an easygoing fella.

Ooh! Callaway should make a red edition of their driver and call it Le Rogue Rouge. (Damn, I’m on a roll.)

There was wine involved with the initiation of the thread, but this post was the product of a most sober mind.

It would be interesting to see Tiger put his old Titleist 975 driver with the X100 steel shaft in play. I'd bet he'd stripe it and lose little--if any--distance.
