Tiger should just hit a ‘Lietzsche’ draw

How far does Tiger hit that stinger shot with the 2 iron, 250+ ? Maybe he should just leave the woods in the locker one time and see what happens..........Just thinking out of the box. :beruo:

Hard to stay competitive on tour all that long giving up 40 yards to the field in driving average, even if you are (were?) the best mid-long iron player of all time.

The guy misspelled Lietzke - give him a break. Have the people on this site don't know the difference between Rogue and Rouge, per se and per say, etc and ect...etc..

I do agree that Tiger should just focus on a little reliable cut, but I think he wouldn't like the positions that puts him in on left to right doglegs.

Ooh! Callaway should make a red edition of their driver and call it Le Rogue Rouge. (Damn, I'm on a roll.)

Tiger needs to go see this guy STAT

Cut his light saber down to 43.75", toss in a 85g shaft and accept he will not be as long as the young guns, and it shouldn't matter with his iron game potential

"Good drive, that is"

Are you sure that is short enough? Is he extremely accurate with three wood in hand?

BL used to say a 5 yard fade was a draw shot for him. He also said if a hole called for a hard draw around a sharp corner he would just fade a 3w to the turn. His clubs were not allowed to hit shots left

His Playing Lessons on the GC is a fantastic watch

That shot totally depends on the conditions of the fairway. You can't hit that on a wet turf, longer grass, or uphill.

But to the larger point here, it always amazes me that no one learns anything from Jack. I mean he only won like 18 majors, who knows maybe he was on to something. One of his big things was to always hit the high cut fade off the tee, unless you absolutely couldn't. What's important is consistency and playing from the fairway.

I've always got the impression from Tiger that he needs the juiced up feeling from working the ball the perfect shape combined with hitting it as far as he can. I think his need for this stimulation was/is the biggest flaw in his game.

Tiger should get back to working his driver both ways. Maybe that will get rid of his 2 way miss.

By 'both ways', you mean hitting it in the trees on the left AND the right? That IS the cause of his two way miss.

The peculiarities of golf. The block fade and rope hook pull have the same parent named stuck.

Don't forget him putting one in somebody's backyard at the Arnold Palmer this year.

That was my neighbors backyard...I tried looking for that ball in the bushes, IIRC it was never found.

The 2 words that define the problem............consistency and fairway. Tiger has neither with a driver, but that stinger seems to find the fairway with great regularity. Yes conditions dictate, but so far this year, with the exception of uphill, the other factors have been non equations. Even with uphill landing areas, except for the Masters, I can't recall any place else that had any severe uphill landing zones. Take your pick, 250+ fairway or 280+ in the trees.

The thing that confuses me the most here is that Tiger has been saying for years that a small draw is his natural shot shape. He still uses it of course but he seems to favor a cut more overall and seems to use it almost exclusively off the tee at times. I can't imagine what the advantages would be of so consistently going against what your supposed natural shot shape is.

He is probably referring to irons when talking about "natural shape." The modern driver is a different animal since it is made to be hit up on to get ideal launch conditions, which necessitates changing the ball position to way forward. From that position it is much easier for most to hit a cut than a draw.

In a late 2015 Tiger clinic video he still talked about hitting draws with drivers and lamenting that he could not turn over the two backup drivers he was testing whereas his gamer produced a standard draw with a normal swing. Tiger also still has a negative AoA with the driver.

The guy misspelled Lietzke - give him a break. Have the people on this site don't know the difference between Rogue and Rouge, per se and per say, etc and ect...etc..

I do agree that Tiger should just focus on a little reliable cut, but I think he wouldn't like the positions that puts him in on left to right right to left doglegs.

Googling his name takes less than 10 seconds, it's not like he's "loosing" his swing.

He's had no trouble spelling his name on this forum before.

As for Tiger - he'll be fine, look out in 2019 if he comes through the winter healthy.

Are you ever NOT an a**? Not that I care, but I can’t recall you being much else. I remember liking one of your posts, but I have no idea what it was. (No judgement.)

Edit: Spelling...still an issue.

What a player...never needed to be on the range much or touch and tinker anything. Those 845s !

Vaguely remember a story about his caddie deliberately left a banana in his bag at the end of the season and it did indeed rot to hell when discovered beginning of the next season!
