High Bridge Hill GC, NJ

Im out in this area for a bit and was wondering how High Bridge Hills GC is? Looks like a nice track from what I see online. Im hoping to play there tomorrow around 1 or 2pm (feel free to join). Only odd thing is a you cant book a tee time online as a single, but it doesnt look like I will have an issue walking on.

Neshanic Valley Golf Course is a better course.It is about 20 miles from High Bridge Hills

Heron and Neshanic are on my radar as courses I also want to play sooner than later. However the house im watching/pet sitting at is < 5 mins from High Bridge Hills so its too close to play anywhere else.

Just saw on Neshanic's website that they are aerating greens this week, so no thanks for a month or so! Also, they require you to make accounts online and all that BS. I prefer to just show up, hand over some $ and play! If I need to jump through hoops online to make a tee time ill pass.

I got around the whole registration rigmarole at Neshanic about a year or so ago by booking on Golfnow, much as I hate Golfnow these days.

Yea I noticed I can use GolfNow for Neshanic. Apparently the fine print on their site says you need to use GN for same-day tee times. That is another pet peeve of mine, not allowing same day tee times by some courses. I play the majority of my golf by not booking in advance. Nice weather, play after work. Slow day in the office, shoot out and play. I rarely schedule my golf time.

For High Bridge, had I not been planning to play a random weekday (today) not being able to book a single would drive me away too. Seeing as I can show up and see that their online tee times are very open I know I wont have an issue. Maybe I will bug them when I get there about their no single tee time policy and see whats behind it.

I enjoyed High Bridge yesterday, good course with lots of variety. A lot of blind tee shots with the hilly terrain. The par 3s were fun, some really short and some pretty long. Even with all the rain it wasnt too wet, fairways were plush and greens decently fast and true.

Definitely play Neshanic, aeration or not.

Heron Glen and Fox Hollow are other solid tracks in the area

High Bridge is a great course! I am a big fan of the layout. #5 is a tough hole but fair. As the others said, I play Architects, Neshanic, and the Crystal courses too but High Bridge is definitely worth playing. I may be a bit biased because I do have an ace at HB but I have always been a fan. Let me know if you ever need a player or two.

High Bridge is a solid course but pace of play and conditions are often a problem so I don't go much, maybe once a year. They get a lot of city traffic due to being right off route 78. In my opinion Heron Glen is the best all around bang for your buck. Neshanic is very nice as well. If you're up for a little drive, maybe 45min, Makefied Highlands in PA is great too.
