Has anyone had this happen?

In a tourney. One big angry guy in a cart, the other two of us pushing. We push our bags onto the tee box, do it all the time. Cart guy says "get them off the tee box. It bugs me." I look at the other guy who was a pretty active golf rules official* in the state we mutter who is this guy and let him have his way. We both beat him that day and in the tourney so that was good. LOL.

 

I wanted to say, "get out of the damn cart and walk and I will do whatever you want. Golf is a walking game."

 

* He just passed away a couple days ago, couldn't believe he was even close to 80.

Putting carry bags and pushtrolleys on tee box is a neverending story.

Small tee boxes I usually park my push cart to the side.

 

Large RTJ tee boxes that are literally a strip of land that would take me 30 minutes to push mow? I push right up on those.

99% of the time I'm using a push cart I play alone and even then I don't go on tee boxes..the course I play is hilly enough without having to climb the tee box hills too.

Your feet are exerting way more pressure/possible damage than a push cart or a bag.

 

I'd tell anyone whining about this to urinate up a rope.

I'm not concerned about any potential damage, and feel free to roll over it, but if you're leaving the push carts on the tee box while teeing off, I guess it's going to depend on how close it is to where I'm hitting. Are you 2 feet from the markers?

I would pre warn them. Depends where you play. If your going to a long established members club then they won’t be best pleased. Taking a trolley between the green and green side bunkers is frowned upon in a lot of places as well.

Different in the UK, where the tee box generally blends into the surroundings. I can think of a couple of holes right off the top of my head where there's no optimal place around the tee box (because the box is elevated, with long grass all around it, impossible to roll or part a cart to the side), and the cart path is 20-30 yards off to the side.

Three feet? Please. I play many courses where if you were in a cart, you would walk 20 yards or more just to get to the tee, routinely.

I don't do this, but here at a new course where only walking is permitted, Sand Valley, you can rent a trolley with wide wheels. You are allowed to pull them across the greens. Wheels are about 5 inches, or 13 cm wide.
