I doubt it, so he’s putted horrible this week, it happens. He’s putted well with the new putter for the most part, why should we then blame it after a bad putting week?

He struggled pretty bad with the Cameron putter at Augusta and other events 3-4 months ago. I tend to think he is just struggling with the Ridgewood greens, regardless of the putter.

I putted the ball poorly the last two times I played. I Better get on BST immediately and find a putter that works.

 

....it doesn’t matter that last weekend I shot an even par 72 with it. It obviously has broken since then.

Yeah I was thinking eye surgery for him too. That 8 footer where he aimed a foot left and the putt was actually dead straight. About as bad of a read as you can have.

 

But maybe he is simply not comfortable with the Ridgewood greens. He has not played there very often in his career. Let’s see how he putts next week at Boston where he has played a lot and had big success. If he is still misreading putts by a mile, maybe a vision issue.

Tiger turned a 64 into a 67. He is really playing good except for putter. I recall DLIII once saying that it was Tiger's putter that separated him from the field.

Just saw a graphic. I didn’t realize he hit 16 greens yesterday and had 35 putts!!! Holy moly! That’s shocking. Worse than my round Tuesday. Hahaha!

 

 

He just said he’s not “seeing” the lines this week. I have know EXACTLY what he’s talking about.......except I just never see the lines anymore!! LOL!! ; )

He’s been back for the last two weeks. Albeit with the broomstick. He’s putted pretty well.

I actually wouldn’t be surprised at all if he switches back. I’ve been waiting for it and I think now is as probable time as any. Most all professional golfers that have a trusty old putter, often try something different for a while, but usually come back to it. Some examples:

 

Stricker

Spieth

Z Johnson

Blixt

Thomas

Snedeker

Phil to a less extent (he had the belly putter a while before going back to a #9, but I know he used blades more often in the past and he has had quite a few different #9s)

DJ switches putters on a whim these days and he's been putting great all year. It's not the putter. It's the guy holding the putter. They can putt with just about anything in their hands. Tiger could putt with a sand wedge and just blade it with the leading edge and probably come within a stroke of his average. The truth is... some days you see it and feel it. And some days you don't.
