When Brooks won the PGA, making 2 majors this year, I thought without a doubt POY. But I never considered someone sweeping the playoffs.....Tough Call honestly. I might go with BAD, first time ever sweeping playoffs is something.

The PGA tour would love if BAD swept the playoffs. That enhances the FedEx cup, and provides a legit argument for a player matching up against a two time major winner for winning the FedEx cup in excellent dominating fashion. Unlikely to happen, but possible. But say DJ wins the next two events does he win player of the year? He would have also won 5 times this year. For some reason I don't think so, but it's still a legit argument.

 

BTW since BAD doesn't even need to play in the BMW, is he playing in it to stay sharp? Or should he have stayed out to stay rested? To me it's like the Warriors getting 73 wins and too tired/injured to win the finals. Not sure if it's a good play since even if he wins the BMW champhionship he still only gets a 200 point lead on second place. It's a bit unfair, but still a tough choice for him to make. Maybe he plays to keep the fire going.

At the end of my career, I'd rather have the two majors. But.... winning all 4 playoff events and the Tour Championship wins Player of the Year.

Yes, but it won't happen. Brooks will get it even though outside catching lightning in a bottle in 2 majors, he's done nothing.

Well, to repeat an old C&W songs lyrics, "when your hot, your hot, when your not, your not"...........that being said, one would think that BAD is well aware of this situation and also that he could make history and possibly change the POY outcome vs Brooks. Unlike a gamblers hot streak, he has nothing to lose and everything to gain. Personally, I would like to see him do it, but in reality, I don't think it's going to happen. We'll have to wait and see. If he does happen to win this week, I think the week layoff before EastLake could be a negative as far as keeping the momentum going.

For those of us that actually watched him play? I remember Miller for the extraordinary iron game when he was hot. No one had as many short birdie looks as Miller in the desert. His scores in Phoenix and Tucson in particular were video game worthy.
