Did Tiger slim down?

Sorry in advance for another inane post about a players physical statue.

 

Does anyone else feel like Tiger has noticeably slimmed down during his run the past few months? In a good way I mean. He looks more fit than I've seen him in a while, face less puffy, more of a bounce in his step.

 

Another random side note, does it seems like Tiger is always sweating 3 times as much as the other players?

I followed him at Carnoustie for a few holes on the Tuesday practice day and hes so much thinner up close, i was shocked how small he actually was, guessing they were right when they say a camera adds 10 lbs

In fairness, he does look a bit trimmer in the midsection than he was a few months ago, probably just normal as he gets more exercise/golf/etc. with his body apparently holding up well to the challenge.

I think he isn't lifting weights as much as he used to, for obvious reasons.

He says he has a hard time keeping weight on when it's hot. Now that he is playing more I'm sure he has slimmed down some just naturally.

some if it is also just proportions, if you have a bigger upper body relative to lower body the camera makes you think the guy is bigger than he is. JDay looks a lot smaller in person because his small waist makes his upper body seem a lot bigger. DJ pretty much looks the same in person.

I've said this for years about Tiger. He's got a very tiny waist that creates an illusion on TV that he's much more "jacked" than he is in reality. His shoulders are pretty narrow and he's generally a small framed guy.

 

I do think he's slimmed down recently and has less muscular development than he has in the past. I'd guess it's by design and he's training differently

Didn't catch that but I did notice that he walks pigeon toed when going downhill. Maybe to protect his knee?

for sure slimmed down, I would guess his workout is a lot more back friendly now. Maybe slimmer because of how much he sweats. I think maybe just a genetics thing as to why he sweats more.

 

I would guess his whole fitness routine is vastly different from before. I believe he made a comment that he no longer goes for a whatever mile run after the round to wind down. I would guess squats are mostly gone from his routine.

 

Not to turn this into one of the WRX fun fitness threads but on a personal level I changed my workouts for the summer and it was a game changer for flexibility. No more squats mix of elastics, high-intensity lightweight stuff and some heavy (but no traditional squats or loading of the back like that) Feel as strong as I was but with way more rotation.

I’d agree DJ looks about the same, Brooks a little bigger, Tiger a little smaller, BAD a little bigger. JT and Jordan look pretty similar. I didn’t think Day looked any smaller but I didn’t pay a whole lot of attention.

I think I have the same sweat glands. I have towels that are just dedicated to sweat management. I go through a water bottle every 3 holes.

 

Luckily clothing has improved quite a bit in this area. If only Nike provided me with free shirts.

Maybe Tiger finally listened to his trainers after two decades of encouragement about dropping weight. Only took about 20 surgeries and a very real awakening that he might never play golf again to get there.
