HZRDUS Shaft in 2 Iron Feels Too Light

I've had the HZRDUS shaft in my 2 iron for two years and I have become too inconsistent with the current set up. Before pulling the shaft I want to see if changing the weight might help as I have developed a two-way miss and cannot feel the club at all in my swing. It feels so light that I have no control right now.

 

What are my options for adding weight to make a club feel heavier? If I use lead tape, where would be the best spot to put it?

Cheap fix. Put a x100 in it.

To "simulate" a higher shaft wgt, or for play, add lead tape on the underside (not visible from adr) with the center of the tape about the middle of the shaft, but also try a strip or 3 on the head.

I agree with OP. I have a HZRDUS Black hybrid in my two iron and it feels really light. I haven't had a chance to try it out on the course, but I think I'll be adding some lead tape to the head

Lead tape right on the back of the head will help with "feel" and increase SW. As Howard suggested you can also add it right on the shaft to help increase Total weight.

 

I would try on the head first, and then see how adding weight to shaft aslo helps. This is one of those things where with a bit of lead tape and a bucket of balls you can really find out what works best on the range.

Thanks. I wasn't sure if the head or the shaft was the best. I'll start with adding to the head first.

I tried the same shaft and had the same issue. Tried a ad di driving iron shaft that is 99g and still don’t like it. Personally same shaft as the irons seems to work best for me but others seem to do fine with a graphite. Think I’ve just decided I’d rather have the control and feel with that club than maybe squeezing out another 5-10 yds.

Shaft is 85g. I put two pieces of lead time before Saturday's round and it was amazing. (2) tight draw tee shots. One of my best recovery shots and one not so great shot on a long par 3.

 

Recovery shot: 208 to pin. Have to go under tree about that was about 2' in front of me and maybe 3' off the ground. Hit it through a gap between trees and to center of green and one skip to pin high with a punch. Couldn't believe it. Trying to post pic but can't figure it out.

So about 5 grams extra shaft wgt was all it took? or did you add some on the head?

I added one long and one small strip to the head. Nothing to the shaft.

Had the same issue.. bought a kbs c taper hybrid proto 105 and its money. Heavy but not too stout. Can also be had in stiff for mortals with a sub 110 driver speed.

I had the same issue and went with a KBS Prototype shaft. That is a great shaft.

I was looking at that shaft. If it turns out to be a honeymoon phase with just lead tape then I will definitely look at the KBS prototype

it's pretty amazing what can happen with some additional head weight.
