Why No S/M Clothing Sizes in the Pro Shop...?

I feel your pain OP!

 

I come at it from a slightly different view and struggle to find flex hats that are big enough for my head. The Titliest L/XL's aren't even guaranteed, some of them feel pretty tight.

 

As I am typing this though, I am remembering my sister bringing he home a medium golf shirt from America. It was massive on me, first time I have felt skinny in my life haha.

I think most shops stock fewer small sizes, and, they get sold out quicker, which, is why, there are more L's and XL's on the closeout racks.

It’s even worse as a guy that wears LT shirts. At least you can get great deals online for small/med, most of the sales and outlet sites have zero tall sizes.

You probably need to remember the average US male is 20lb heavier than the average Euro male. I’m a large in the Euro brands with a 42” chest, but if I buy a Large Nike I could get two of me in it.

i can't remember the last time i bought something in a physical store.

i just can't get away from thinking there will be a better price online.

 

I feel your pain. On a related note, has anyone noticed how much larger the different sizes tend to run? When I was in school I wore 34" waist pants, but now I can magically fit into 32s and even 30s in some brands. I didn't lose any weight, so what happened? I was curious about this, so I measured a pair of pants with a 32" waist one day and found that the circumference of the waistline was actually 36". No wonder I can wear the smaller sizes now.

 

it's called vanity sizing, it's an official thing. but a pain in the a** to navigate.

I wish I saw L's on sales racks! In my experience there are hardly ever L's or even XL's on sale, just XXL and S.

 

It also never crossed my mind that people needed bigger sizes because they are fat. I figured it's the same reason I do, because I'm tall. I can't tuck in a large, it barely covers my waist. XL works but then it's pretty baggy around the midsection. So i buy L's for shorts season (I can't stand the look of shirts tucked in with shorts), and XL's for pants season. All the more reason I'm visiting the clearance racks!
