Been at range nearly every day since got new irons last week don’t know if it’s the cold weather here in the UK but still not getting my usual yardages with new irons. Usually hit pw 150-155

New pw about 135-140 pushing it usual 7 iron 180-185 new iron 7 165-170. And same for the rest of the clubs about ten yards shorter than my last set same loft specs only difference is shafts. played project x 6.0 in old set new set have X100. Any help out or do you think will have reshaft back to project 6.0 or maybe go s300

Do you have your old irons still? Do you have access to a launch monitor? The best thing you could do is hit the same iron back to back on the launch monitor to see if the distances truly are different and if the difference is caused by swing speed, ball speed off the face, spin, or something else.

Lots of variables to look assess here:

- Lofts of old clubs vs. new clubs

- Differences in shaft (which you've outlined)

- Colder weather (less flight)

In short, it's tough to compare an old vs. new set unless many of these variables are the same.

I would suggest taking the new sticks to the course and hitting various shots you've taken with your previous set. If you're anything like me, an 8 iron on the range is a 9 iron on the course. Range balls and turf mats don't yield the same results as "real" balls off the grass.

Seriously..if your old PW was 150/155,why did you feel the need for new clubs? just curious

And if your new PW is 135/140, you must be hitting a LW about 120.. Those are some impressive numbers to try to deal with.

Good luck in your battle.

There may be a chance that your new Mizunos do not have jacked lofts.. Could be your old PW was actually a 9I.

that is seriously long, I would say a lot of it is down to shafts, I lost considerable yardage when I got mizunos with x100. Mizuno's are also 1/4 inch shorter than most which doesn't equate to all of the distance but can have a small effect

Driver: Taylormade M2 10.5* w/ Hzrdus Black 6.0 62g
3 Wood: Callaway Rogue Sub Zero 15* w/ Hzrdus Yellow 6.5 76g

5-PW: Callaway X Forged '13 w/ Project X Pxi 6.0
Wedges: Callaway Forged 50, Vokey SM7 54S & 60L - DG wedge flex
Putter: Odyssey 2 ball XG 40" Armlock w/ winn grip and triple track alignment

Ball: looking for chrome soft replacement

Are they going straight at the flag? I'm not worried about losing few yards with my irons if they go straighter. It's pretty easy to adjust to yardages.

Having said that, I can see where your old PX 6.0 would fly/roll a few yards farther than X100. It depends on your swing, but PX definitely flatten out and fly, where X100 can 'potentially' spin a little more for someone with higher swing speed like yours.

Wanted a change was either mizunos or ping iblades went with mizunos hitting 60 degree 100-105 56 degree 110-120 52 degree 125 130 bit of gap between pw and 52 but always knock a pw 140 if have too

Yeah straight at flag never really got any roll with project x 6.0’s was all carry but X100 are all carry just abit less yards same height or a touch more but can only tell height difference when in the long irons

What’s long lol? They are same length as my old set out them side by side with my dads set of i15 irons which are same length as my old anser irons
