Sadlowski Giving it Another Go....

Obee

Recommended Posts

Jamie Sadlowski is at 2nd stage Q-School at my home club, Bear Creek in Murrieta, CA.

Currently 2-under through day 1, which is under the cut-line. 18 of 71 move on to the finals. Usually 3 - 4 under is the number, though it used to be even or 1-over. We don't have the same greenskeeper we used to have.... LOL.

He played first stage at Bear Creek two years ago and shot 2-under for four days, but missed moving on by 2.

I hope he makes it too. Then play on the Web and get higher level experience and hopefully make

it to the PGA Tour. It would certainly be fun seeing him out there.

If he can go 'round Bear Creek in 6-under to 12-under for four rounds, then he's on his way to competing with the big boys. Not a guarantee, of course, but that's where he needs to be.

Some former PGA tour players in the field... Damn, golf is hard.

Yep. These guys come to Bear every year. Some of them move on. Some of them don't.

It's so cool to see these guys play our course. We have our club championship the following week. We will play the same course that they do, from the same tees. Sometimes it's tougher when we play it. Sometimes it's a bit easier. All depends on the wind and what they decide to do with the rough. Usually it's a bit easier because sometimes we will play two tees up one tee to speed up play. Depends on the year.

lol @ his card. He had it going pretty good, then the 15-18 (admittedly tough holes) got him.

Says the guy posting from his couch instead of, I dunno, trying to actually qualify

Hey he admitted they were tough holes.

It's like saying "with all due respect". As long as that qualifier is there you can shred a guy

He was amazing through 14 holes. But looks like the eagle on the 13th hole par 4 got him too excited. Rarely do you see a pro score bogeys or worse over 4 holes like he did. But he still finished 2 under! Conclusion: It's really tough to shoot a low score like a 65 like the leader did. But if Jamie can keep it up, he does have potential to go low one of the 4 days and couple 68-69's and he's have a chance to win.

Wonder what parts of the game he needs the most improvement?

His proximenty to hole could be better and his putting from distance needs to get alot better. Its going to be tough to hit a ton of fairways with how far he hits it

I suppose score cards like that are more common among "normal" pros compared to the guys you follow normally on the big tour leaderboards? There's plenty of muscle out there and I suppose a lot of birdies are made all over the place at professional tournaments even on the lesser tours. But when something start to quirk, you lose something in the swing, you lose some of the feel for lenght or direction on the greens the top guys manage to keep it together, while the lesser gods will maybe struggle for the rest of the round?

What’s the difference in the course this year with the new super.

The greens haven't been perfect and firm like they were when I came to Bear Creek seven or eight years ago. Late fall through early spring they used to be soooo firm and true. Now much softer the last couple years. Older members started complaining a lot for a while, and then we have gone through a couple supers in the last two years. We'll see....

I see Norman Xiong in there too. He was a top 5ish in the world am. Driving is insanely good. Had a couple of PGA tour starts last season and was in one round I looked at his shotlink info +2.something stroked gained driving. DJ struggles to get above 1 on that stat... 330 in the fairway all day long. He was missing greens with wedges though.

If I were you Obee, I'd be out there watching some of these guys. I'd love to see him and Sadlowski hit it in person.

"With all due respect." "It's not about the money." "It's not personal." "Don't take this the wrong way." All phrases that lead to an immediate need for a foxhole. To topic, it would be cool to see Cameron Champ and Jamie in the same group.

Here are some of my favorite jumping-off-the-cliff lead-ins:

“I don’t normally discuss politics or religion at work but....”

“I’m not racist but...”

“I totally understand being a stay at home mom is hard but...”

“The Nazis were terrible but...”
