Scheduled for a driver fitting at the SA location on Dec. 8, anybody been yet? Planning to take the specs and piece the club together myself to save some money. I'll try to post about how it goes once it's done.

So this experience was totally worth it, at least to me. If you've never been on trackman, it's incredibly fun. Here's how it went:

 

To start out, Rod (my fitter) had me warm up and hit some drives with my gamer, a 2017 M1 with a fujikura motore. We selected 10 drives to get some numbers. My swing speed averaged at 99.6, ball speed 139, smash factor 1.39, spin rate 3203, carry 215, total distance 240.

 

We began the fitting process by narrowing down the shaft, all with the same driver head, the M3 at 9.5 degrees. I must have tried 8-10 different shafts, and we looked at averages for each, in the end it came down to the HZRDUS T1100 or the Tensei Pro Orange, and the Orange had better numbers.

 

From there we plugged that shaft into almost every major OEM's current offerings, maybe 10-12 heads. These went quicker as we could tell after just one or two swings whether or not they could beat the current benchmark. It came down to the m3 and m4. M3 numbers were same swing speed, 145 ball speed (+6mph), 1.47 smash, 2642 spin rate (-600 rpm), 237 (+22 yds) carry and 263 (+23 yds) total. For what it's worth, the m4 numbers were almost identical, but carried 6 yards shorter with same total distance.

 

So all in all, I would recommend a fitting here, especially if you haven't been fit before. Only downside is tracking down the specific components you get fit into can be pricey, but Rod did ask if I had a budget and was willing to work with those limits as well. He even tried to help me save some money by pointing out that TM offered a Tensei white as a stock option, but I figured I would go with the exact combo I tried.
